Exposed Vocals just interviewed Gypsy Piano Blues
The blues styling of Denise Peachey’s Gypsy Piano Blues has been said to liven up the Avenue in the November 2009 performance series in the Bloomfield section of Pittsburgh. A proud native Pittsburgher, Denise has released several CDs, appeared on the “Code Pearl” tribute CD to Janis Joplin (of which the proceeds were donated to Hurricane Katrina relief efforts), and has played for the Baltimore Jazz & Blues Festival and the Federal Hill Jazz & Blues Fest with her former band Gypsy & Crazy Moon. Exposed Vocals: Since everyone was a start-up once, can you give any smaller or local bands or artists looking to get gigs and airplay some tips?
Gypsy Piano Blues: It’s not 1 simple thing, it’s everything ,practice practice do media work do media work ect. Just hustle your thing!
Exposed Vocals: Do you ever make mistakes during performances? How do you handle that?
Gypsy Piano Blues: I had the wrong drumbeats and just apologized quickly doing a blues tune & just switched to plan piano. It worked
Exposed Vocals: Do you tour? Anything interesting happen on tour that you think our readers would enjoy hearing about?
Gypsy Piano Blues: Yes sometimes its wherever I end up but at the moment until I move this year I am doing online shows. I did a gig for Make Music Tucson June 21/2021 and got a Casio CT200.I had to make an extreme video. I went to Texas Canyon in Arizona(where many westerns are filmed)& they had forest fires burning behind me
Exposed Vocals: Any planned studio upgrades? What are you working with now?
Gypsy Piano Blues: Im using Behringer amps-The amp I use doubles as a pa and mixing board (Ultratone KXD12) & mkes..love them & Just got a new Medeli Stage piano
Exposed Vocals: How do you find ways to promote your music? What works best for you?
Gypsy Piano Blues: Social media is great but I only use it for my music. I also share a lot of my content a few days a week, which helps tremendously.
Exposed Vocals: If you could perform anywhere and with any artists (Dead or Alive) where and who would it be with? Why?
Gypsy Piano Blues: Jerry Lee Lewis Elvis & Johnny Cash because they are the bringers of rock and roll from the blues
Exposed Vocals: So, what’s next? Any new upcoming projects that you want to talk about?

Gypsy Piano Blues: Cooking or Tarot Card readings ,yes I’ll stick to music

Gypsy Piano Blues: A new album and new videos and of course shows. Not sure where or when though. Covids still strangling on.
