Exposed Vocals: So tell us your story. Where did you grow up? What made you decide to become an artist?Â
Venom:
I grew up with both parents & a brother in Wilson Nc (252/WIDE AWAKE STANDUP!!)small town not many famous artists or performers from m here well til i was born lol my father went to school for singn has a bach in it any everything so he basically inspired me he had a dream & didnt go for it so i took it own because its true wat they say like father like son fast fwd a few yrs i made my first rap(was 9) n i went by skillz but i neva rap infront of people was shy fast fwd to highschool my bois call me out to rap battle this kid named dwayne (we both sucked back then dont even think dwayne still spits) felt like i lost that battle & it started a in me & it hasn’t left since fast fwd 9 yrs n here i am lol
Exposed Vocals: How did you come up with that name? What was your inspiration behind it?
Venom:
I was sittn in my room on base(army days lol) & i was thinkn i do like spiders alot i mean im covered in them & i was thinkn of a bew moniker cause granted i love spiderman but my style of rhyme n how i dress is more antihero orriented, so i went with Venom but i didnt stop just there its an acronym Venomous Ehanced Necromancer Of Music. The necromancer part is because people & other artist were sayin hip-hop’s dead & i feel that i can raise it back up but wit control so it reflects back to Venom him being a symbiote which is a parasite that controls its host which then leads to my labels name Sym6iotemusic. The 6 is a b but also references to how many generations im planning for
Exposed Vocals: What do you think about online music sharing? Do you ever give your music away for free? Why?
Venom:
I love it makes it more convient. Yes at the moment all my music is free till i drop my ep n mixtapes but im still gonna be givin away the same amount of free downloads as the ones sold(only gonna be 50cent per track for ya info)
Exposed Vocals: Since everyone was a start-up once, can you give any smaller or local bands or artists looking to get gigs and airplay some tips?
Venom:
Dont quit & if people say u suck ur doin the right thing most people dont go for their dreams because of fear or they’re worried bout wat others think pardon my french but FUCK That! Do you that’s all that matters
Exposed Vocals: Do you ever make mistakes during performances? How do you handle that?
Venom:
Dont we all lol we’re not perfect. I keep goin no point in reflectin on the past its behind u for a reason right?
Exposed Vocals: Do you tour? Anything interesting happen on tour that you think our readers would enjoy hearing about?
Venom:
Not at the moment but im planning on im actually trying to get a spot to open up for Drake & Future at their summer 16 tour
Exposed Vocals: Where do you usually gather songwriting inspiration? What is your usual songwriting process?Â

: Everyday life i hear sounds whn at work or through conversations i over hear(im a cook at texas steakhouse) while in the car & my procesa is i usually start sumin on my phone & whn i get a break or when im off i start addind to also a blunt or 2 helps me ralax(im recreational til nc gets medicinal lol) then i just let it flow

Venom:
I dont really have any embarrassing ones but i guess u can say you wouldnt think i listen to em. Leann rimes how do i breath & cant fight the moonlight(in the works of makn my own version of it lol) seleena gomez hands to myself, charlie xo boom clap & i dont care(isnt that iggy pop’s song ft her tho lol)
Exposed Vocals: If you were given half a million dollars and a year off, what would you do? How would you spend it?Â

: Make sure my parents & intermediate family was financially straight, start my own eczema foundation(i have eczema and theres not enough researchers out there workin to stop the itch & most of the meds they have for it are to expensive), the rest would go 2 a condo with a studio & id would just record & get more stuff out while i invested the rest of the
Exposed Vocals: Any planned studio upgrades? What are you working with now? Â
Venom:Yes the studios always in need for improvement. Me & my partner Aykay use logic X, & a yeti mic on a mac book air
Exposed Vocals: How do you find ways to promote your music? What works best for you?
Venom: Mainly through social media. All the platforms work at the same rate to me cause they both fluctuate but my strongest 2 are reverbnation & twitter
Exposed Vocals: If you could perform anywhere and with any artists (Dead or Alive) where and who would it be with? Why?Â
Venom: Michael Jackson and at the apollo theatre. He was the greatest entertainer to had lived his stage presence alone made his fans faint just from a head turn & he gave his all n all his performances & work. I picked the apollo because its where he & his brothers finally got recognised so it would be like a homage
Exposed Vocals: So, what’s next? Any new upcoming projects that you want to talk about?
Venom: Yes i have a ep comin within the next 2 months dropping its name on my bornday(sept 1st) followed by its sequal which is a mixtape series ive been planning to start so stay tuned!
Exposed Vocals: If you weren’t making music, what would you be doing? Â
Venom: working behind the scenes like producing videos & etc
Exposed Vocals: Do you remember buying your first album? Who was it? What was going through your head? Â
Venom: Yes i actually do i was 12yrs in the 7th grade(shout out to North johnston middle) and it was Sisqo’s 2nd solo album. I hope they don’t c the parental advisory sticker under my thumb…they didn’t luckily lol
Exposed Vocals: How do you juggle the rest of your responsibilities while trying to stay ahead in your music life? Â
Venom: honesty i dont really juggle them, they go hand in hand with each other(i involve my life with music). When im at my 9 to 5 im still writin ideas n songs down in my phone n whn i get off i just go back to it & turn it into gold lol
Exposed Vocals: What should fans look forward to in 2016? Â
Venom: A lot of new projects otw i.e couple eps & mixtapes n a joint mixtape wit my business partner Aykay called Bars of Truth
