Exposed Vocals just caught an interview with Frederic Sroussi from Lucky Punch
Exposed Vocals: So tell us your story. Where did you grow up? What made you decide to become an artist?
Hi, I grow up in France. Because of my musician mother, I started when I was a child to listen to Leonard Cohen, Janis Joplin, Stan Getz and the songs of the sixties. I always thought that music would be my way.
Exposed Vocals: Since everyone was a start-up once, can you give any smaller or local bands or artists looking to get gigs and airplay some tips?
I really think that you must be modest (and stay modest). Never refuse to play a gig even in front of 3 persons.
Exposed Vocals: Do you ever make mistakes during performances? How do you handle that?
Sure, I am trying to handle that as if nothing happened (laughs)
Exposed Vocals: Do you tour? Anything interesting happen on tour that you think our readers would enjoy hearing about?
We don’t tour internationally because we don’t have enough notoriety. We are sure Exposed Vocals will help us to be more famous.
Exposed Vocals: Any planned studio upgrades? What are you working with now?
We have dozens of songs and demo. We are working on new songs for a ”real” album. We are working hard to give the best. The melodies, the lyrics, the arrangement must be perfect.
Exposed Vocals: How do you find ways to promote your music? What works best for you?
It is obviously via the internet but of course we must be connected with ”real people” that we know : musicians , owners of clubs and venues we are working with and who trust us.
Exposed Vocals: If you could perform anywhere and with any artists (Dead or Alive) where and who would it be with? Why?
Difficult question. I love so many artists but I would like very much to perform with Johnny Marr (ex-Smiths). The Smiths have been my favourite band for many years.
Exposed Vocals: So, what’s next? Any new upcoming projects that you want to talk about?
We just put our song ”Summer” on youtube and it’s funny because it is musically a very different kind of song. Very fun with lot of positive energy. Generally our music is deep and dark.
Exposed Vocals: If you weren’t making music, what would you be doing?
I am also a plastician artist. My artwork was exhibited in galleries and one museum in Paris and in Jerusalem.
Exposed Vocals: What should fans look forward to in the next year or so?
Now, I live in Israel so we will tour in different cities and especially in Tel Aviv and its area.
Exposed Vocals: Any Shout-outs?
Sure ! We would like to give a Shout-out to the people who follow us and who love our music. We express ourselves when we make a song and the goal is to share emotions with people. I wish to thank also Exposed Vocals for the great job you do to promote artists.
