Exposed Vocals just caught an interview with Dulche
I’ve always been a believer in the power of education through music. I come from an abnormal life and family. I was adopted into a household of 13 as one of the only African Americans in the small town. I lost a division one scholarship two years in and found myself back facing the evil of severe depression caused by the trap life. After fighting to find any reason to not take my life, Music saved me again. My style is unique, I rap and sing about real authentic feelings similar to topics produced by Kid Cudi. I have been given opportunity and it is my duty to use it to the best of my abilities to change the world for those that have very little or even no opportunity. Good vibes, peace, pot and Microdots. ~Dulche
Exposed Vocals: So tell us your story. Where did you grow up? What made you decide to become an artist?
I never planned to be an artist. If I wasn’t making music I would be dead or in the NFL. Wasn’t till about a year or a year and half ago when I lost my D1 scholarship that music really found me. I never touched a mic, performed or stepped into a studio till around a year ago. One day I decided that I could really make a difference in my life and the life’s of others if I pursue this goal.
I have an interesting life story. I was adopted into a family of 13, grew up in a Midwest town with not much diversity. I remember life started getting really bad in 2006-2008 when the recession hit and my parents were unemployed. I have no hard feelings towards anyone ever but being adopted and then the mental exhaustion of not fitting in & having a chaotic home life mixed with my severe mental illness made me accept death at an early age. Never thought I would see 16, 18 or 22. Like I said I got to play d1 football, was still in the trap life (PAY COLLEGE ATHLETES) and now I’m here. If you wanna know more about my story check out my tape Cellophane Sounds the Second Chance Chronicles on all streaming services. The full version though is only on soundcloud
Exposed Vocals: Since everyone was a start-up once, can you give any smaller or local bands or artists looking to get gigs and airplay some tips?
Now a days it’s not about the music you make, but the brand you create
Exposed Vocals: Do you ever make mistakes during performances? How do you handle that?
Every performance you will make a mistake, there is no such thing as perfect. It’s how you carry yourself and how you learn that really matters
Exposed Vocals: Do you tour? Anything interesting happen on tour that you think our readers would enjoy hearing about?
Not yet but I got big plans
Exposed Vocals: Any planned studio upgrades? What are you working with now?
I built a studio in my room, NT1A microphone, focus right interface, lots of foam and my newest upgrade is the kaotica eyeball. When I started recording I thought I could buy a 40 dollar condenser mic off of amazon, pirate fruity loops and make a hit. Boy was I wrong.
Exposed Vocals: How do you find ways to promote your music? What works best for you?
Talking to people in person. I’m in school and one of the main reasons I stay getting a degree is because it’s free advertising
Exposed Vocals: If you could perform anywhere and with any artists (Dead or Alive) where and who would it be with? Why?
Kid Cudi at red rocks
Exposed Vocals: So, what’s next? Any new upcoming projects that you want to talk about?
Dropping a new tape on February 28th called ~This is not an Album~ six months exactly after I dropped my first project. I want everyone to see my progression it’s unbelievable.
Exposed Vocals: If you weren’t making music, what would you be doing?
Prolly be dead
Exposed Vocals: What should fans look forward to in the next year or so?
