Exposed Vocals just caught an interview with ‘DJ Megzz’
Im Aspiring DJ/Producer named DJ Megzz and i have an album coming out on April 15th that im super excited about. This song will be on the album. I have more singles from upcoming album out on Itunes now. This upcoming album is supposed to feel like summer and for partying. The upcoming album coming out on April 15th, is called “Summer Nightzz” by DJ Megzz
Exposed Vocals: So tell us your story. Where did you grow up? What made you decide to become an artist?
DJ Megzz: I grew up in Long Island, NY. From a small town called Bayville. I decided i wanted to give the music thing a try after going through a very rough period in my life and finding out i needed to do something that im passionate about. Ive always loved music, i grew up listening to hip hop and loved it. But after i first listened to Dance/EDM music i can honestly say i fell in love with the genre. After that i pretty much knew that i really wanted to make that type of music and pursue being an artist.
Exposed Vocals: Since everyone was a start-up once, can you give any smaller or local bands or artists looking to get gigs and airplay some tips?
DJ Megzz: I definitely am still in that start-up phase myself lol but if i learned anything its to always be yourself and be original. Alot of times new artists are trying to sound like other popular artists. Granted i think its totally fine to look up to artists that you admire, but at the same time i think what separates an artist from just any other artist is that originality.
Exposed Vocals: Do you ever make mistakes during performances? How do you handle that?
DJ Megzz: I have, and you gotta just keep going lol and act like you didn’t make a mistake.
Exposed Vocals: Do you tour? Anything interesting happen on tour that you think our readers would enjoy hearing about?
DJ Megzz: I haven’t had the opportunity yet to tour because ive been real busy with this next project im working on but when i do finally go i will have to get back to you because im sure there will be plenty of stories lol.
Exposed Vocals: Any planned studio upgrades? What are you working with now?
DJ Megzz: Hopefully will be getting some upgrades very soon, right now im working with my home studio i set up.
Exposed Vocals: How do you find ways to promote your music? What works best for you?
DJ Megzz: I think social media is a great avenue to try and spread or promote your music. I also think music blogs and interviews like this are very useful in promoting music. For me what works best is probably twitter because i can make announcements on there.
Exposed Vocals: If you could perform anywhere and with any artists (Dead or Alive) where and who would it be with? Why?
DJ Megzz: If i could perform anywhere i would definitely choose Ibiza, and even though he doesn’t make house music i would love to be on stage with drake. Thats my favorite artist.
Exposed Vocals: So, what’s next? Any new upcoming projects that you want to talk about?
DJ Megzz: Yea, I have a new album coming out next month on April 15th. Its Called “Summer Dayzz” and im extremely excited about it. This will be only my third project of mine but i feel like ive learned so much from the previous two projects that it has really helped make this one i personally think my best project yet. I went about making this album differently than the previous two, previously i was focused on getting as much music out as quickly as possible. But this time around i really took my time and probably made enough music to come out with multiple albums but im going to be narrowing it down to what me and my manager think are the best tracks and those will be on the album. I really tried to make this project specifically for summer time, i wanted all the tracks to be feel good summer music, whether your day drinking on the beach, grilling out at the pool, or at a summer house party i wanted the tracks on this project to fit all those types of scenarios that happen in the summertime. So i really hope people enjoy it.
Exposed Vocals: If you weren’t making music, what would you be doing?
DJ Megzz: I would probably be doing something in finance, i always found investing really cool so probably something to do with that.
Exposed Vocals: What should fans look forward to in the next year or so?
DJ Megzz: Well definitely the project coming out on April 15th, and then i also have an idea for a project in the future but ill keep that a secret for now lol.
Exposed Vocals: Any Shout-outs?
DJ Megzz: I definitely always give shout-outs to my family and friends, the people that have stuck with me through my toughest times and have helped me, they know who they are. I also give a shout-out to the people that did me wrong or left me when times got rough because they made me even more inspired and hungry for success……..those people also know who they are.
