Exposed Vocals just caught an interview with AMARU
Exposed Vocals:
AMARU, nice to chat with you again! What’s up?
AMARU:
I am good, thank you. Very busy, but it’s the good kind of “busy”. Before we continue, allow me to thank you for checking up on me, it’s very much appreciated!
Exposed Vocals:
Sure, no biggie! So, what are you working on right now?
AMARU:
Well, since we spoke last, I had just released my fourth single “Independence Day” and the video won the Best Video Bronze Award at the Global Music Awards in Los Angeles, California last December! Can ya dig that? Currently I am in the final stages of the production of my first album, which will feature 20 tracks, all original music written, (co)produced and performed by myself and independently released on my own label
Amaru Music. I am planning on releasing a single prior to the album release, actually.
Exposed Vocals:
Can you tell us a little bit more about the album?
AMARU:
Sure! As mentioned, the album will feature all original music from my own hand. I am working with a kick ass producer too though, who understands my musicality like no other! He was also responsible for the sound of 3 of my previous singles, by the way.
I consider the songs on this album little chapters of the book of my life. I talk about relationships, adultery, materialism, loss, love, social issues, growing pains, hatred…
I think this album will have something for everybody, as I describe it as
“Adult Contemporary Pop Music With A Dash Of Latin Soul”. I even wrote a salsa track in honor of my South American roots. But there’s some R&B on it, some Pop, some Latin and even some Rock! The title track will be all rock!

I remember from our last interview that you’re also an actor.
Any news on that front?
AMARU:
Yes, there is! Actually, I had a part in a TV commercial for a famous supermarket brand in this country and it ran for about 6 weeks. I got recognized a couple of times, because that close-up was real! But it was fun. In addition to that, I auditioned for a 5-day commercial shoot 2 weeks ago and just last weekend I learned that I didn’t get the part. Oh well… such is the life of an actor, but we’re pushing through.
