Exposed Vocals: So tell your story. Where did you grow up? What made you decide to become an artist?

Skidi booy: I grew up in between Bamenda,yaounde and kumba..but the magic started in Bamenda ,yaounde gave me the French in my music and kumba gave me a different way of looking at life..hahahaha Cameroon is a blessed nation .way back in Bamenda I used to rap in school competitions tho by then we did everything with beat box hahaha then later on i moved to Yaoundé where I knew no studio and everything restarted in kumba then the real magic started happening when I entered buea

Exposed Vocals: How did you get that name? What was your inspiration behind it?


Skidi booy: hahahaha the name was firstly skill snap which was something you could so fast withing a short period of time..then skidi boy just came a day I was about to do an outro of a song and I just said skidi boy..hahahaha

Exposed Vocals: What do you think about sharing music online? Give your music for free? Why?


Skidi booy: to me online is the best platform do far..but hey yea my music I give them for free I just do it for the love tho man get bills to pay..you wise me nor?

Exposed Vocals: Since everyone was a start-up once, can you give groups or more or less local artists seeking concerts andAirplay some advice?

Skidi booy: yea all I can tell them is stay humble,patient and creative..they should always try to come out with something different .cuz u are a product u need to be a different one so customers can come for you. tu ignore quoi?!

Exposed Vocals: Where do you usually gather songwriting inspiration? What is your usual writing process?

SKIDI BOOY: my inspiration comes from my day to day experiences ,from my village,matango bar,casino when am hanging with my combis ..hahahaha yea that’s me

Exposed Vocals: If you have received half a million dollars a year, what would you do? How do you spend?

SKIDI BOOY:  yea my nikka firstly I will set a very good studio

Exposed Vocals: How do you find ways to promote your music? What works best for you?

SKIDI BOOY: hahahaha like for real e no easy cuz for chorkor ( a kind of corruption in cameroon) DJs na big problem.. But I think the internet has been my best platform for promo.Na God get power cuz when u have a good song ,u don’t stress.

Exposed Vocals: So what’s next? All new upcoming projects you want to talk?

SKIDI BOOY: afta my new collabo with ASKIA (ndlr the best female rapper), I will be dropping a couple of songs like gerat,nanga mboko,njakass,dat men dem strong etc..so from their titles you already know what it is.

Exposed Vocals: If you do not do music, what would you do?


SKIDI BOOY: I would have probably been a network analyst.. But it would have been a bad world for me..hahahaha

Exposed Vocals: How do you juggle the rest of your responsibilities while trying to stay ahead in your life to music?


SKIDI BOOY: bro my secrete is the way I manage my time but I think 60% of my time on music.family 25% and 15% lessure
