Exposed Vocals just caught an exclusive with Richard Lynch
Richard Lynch is an American country music artist, who has compiled a long list of country hits and chart toppers in the world of traditional country music. The sounds of Richard Lynch are reminiscent of the classics that started it all. The same passion and raw truth that fueled the likes of Conway Twitty, Keith Whitley, Waylon Jennings, George Jones, and Hank Williams is sewn into the fabric of Richard Lynch. In a world of fabricated country stars, Richard Lynch stands out in the crowd as a proud member of the last of a dying breed, the pure country music artist. His rock solid country roots span 3 decades, it comes up with the sun each morning, and it settles in the music he writes and the songs he sings.. The spirit of Richard Lynch is that which is attached to the working man’s soul. It’s real and it’s timeless. It’s country, the way country was meant to be.
Living the life he sings about is what gives Richard Lynch the edge as a singer/songwriter. Richard is a hard working, blue collar man. He is a designer and builder of amazing barns, and as should be expected, he is an American farmer. His everyday life and paying his musical dues by performing at 100’s of events & shows a year, all across the country, is that which shaped him into a one-of-a-kind performer. Richard’s style is true and it carries into his live shows. Much like his music alone, a live performance of the Richard Lynch Band is something you feel. It’s something you carry with you when you walk away. If country music is a gift that sustains in our lives wherever we go, Richard Lynch is the messenger.
Backed by a group of hand selected country musicians, the Richard Lynch Band performs a wide variety of music for the true traditionalist. Ranging from pure country, western swing, rockabilly, outlaw country, and hard driving honky tonk, a Richard Lynch performance will surely warm your country soul.
Richard Lynch Band’s latest single is “A Better Place,” written by Billy Yates and Trent Tomlinson, and produced by Yates reached #1 on the New Music Weekly AM/FM national airplay charts and #1 for 14 weeks on the Roots Music Report True Country Singles chart.

Exposed Vocals: So tell us your story. Where did you grow up? What made you decide to become an artist?
Richard Lynch: I grew up in Lebanon OH in southwest OH on a farm…..and my Dad was well renowned country music singer in this area and he had me
On stage at the age of 8 so I was bit young by the country music bug. I saw my Dad perform with the likes of Porter Wagonner, Glen Campbell, Bobby Bard and the Osborne Bros.
I loved that music being played on the radio and sang in my household, I knew that was what I wanted to do.
Exposed Vocals: What do you think about online music sharing? Do you ever give your music away for free? Why?
RL: I don’t much about what I have online as my wife and my promoter Randy Hayford take care of all that for me……….The artist doesn’t get compensated enough by online music sharing,
It has become too acceptable in the US and the listeners don’t respect and pay for the music to support the artists. In Europe they buy more CDS to show support for the artists. We have posted
Some of the songs to promote Richard’s music and we give the music to radio shows anytime we can
Exposed Vocals: Since everyone was a start-up once, can you give any smaller or local bands or artists looking to get gigs and airplay some tips?
RL: Don’t settle for anything less than what you expect on your recordings…..dont settle for less than professional recordings, it makes a huge difference to sound the best you can. Also stay true to
the roots of the music you came from, don’t let someone else dictate what you sing if it is not what you like to sing
Exposed Vocals: Do you ever make mistakes during performances? How do you handle that?
RL: I feel I make mistakes constantly, I just smile and go on and hope no one notices, its all about the
Delivery of the passion for the music that makes the performance go smoothly no matter what happens..
Its live music not taped in a live performance you get the best and occasional mistakes
Exposed Vocals: Do you tour? Anything interesting happen on tour that
you think our readers would enjoy hearing about?
RL: We are playing new and different venues and areas we have not played before. It is always very satisfying to have new people telling
Us how much they enjoy and appreciate our music. And it is always satisfying to play in our home area and have the friends and fans of our music
That have been following us and supporting us for years come out and have a good time.
We are getting involved in performing for more veterans groups and we have some music coming out that will appeal to another group we love
The American Farmers, we are working on more events for this group
Exposed Vocals: Where do you usually gather songwriting inspiration?
What is your usual songwriting process?
RL: My songwriting comes from various inspirations of real life and from the heart, I have to relate to the content of the song and feel the story or passion behind the words
Exposed Vocals: Do you have a band website? What online platforms do you
use to share your music?

Exposed Vocals: What are some really embarrassing songs that we might
find on your mp3 player?
RL: I don’t have an MP3 player, I don’t use a smartphone…..I still use a flip phone for calling purposes. I listen to CDs usually sent to me by other artists, I listen to our
Local classic country station, my wife will play internet stations for me on her phone and mostly I listen to Sirius XM stations such as Willie’s Roadhouse or Prime Country. I do not enjoy or listen to the new country
on mainstream radio
Exposed Vocals: If you wfrere given half a million dollars and a year off,
what would you do? How would you spend it?
RL: I would go crazy a year off, and if I had that kind of money I would expand my farm and
Probably create a nice little venue in town where we could play our real country music with our other country
Artists who perform traditional country music
Exposed Vocals: Any planned studio upgrades? What are you working with
now?
RL: We are planning the next album and we are scoping out the best studios in Nashviille
Exposed Vocals: How do you find ways to promote your music? What works
best for you?
RL: Randy Hayford from Twang Thang Country takes care of this for us…social media seems the strongest way to promote our music
Exposed Vocals: If you could perform anywhere and with any artists (Dead
or Alive) where and who would it be with? Why?
RL: My dream would be to perform with Conway Twitty on the Grand Ole Opry
Conway was the ultimate country singer and the Opry is the pinancle of country music performing venues
Exposed Vocals: So, what’s next? Any new upcoming projects that you want
to talk about?
RL: Planning to be back in the studio end of this year with some tunes I have written and some tunes from
Friends and the great songwriters in Nashville

Can to get everything completed.

RL: The same genuine country music I have always played, a new
CD and a lot of different venues we have not played before
