Exposed Vocals just caught an interview with Saddle of Southern Darkness
We recently had the chance to catch up with Saddle of Southern Darkness out of Denver, CO to find out more about the upcoming New Release out of World Famous Studios and the inspirations behind the sound.
Exposed Vocals: Hey Saddle Of Southern Darkness, your sound is cutting edge and entirely unique. What did you guys grow up listening to? –
Metal, Rock n roll, and Classic Country music.
Exposed Vocals: Tell us about the new music, any new techniques this time in the studio as opposed the the past recording experiences?
The new music is the most accurate representation of what we’ve been trying to create, it truly captures the Saddle of Southern Darkness theme while still hitting the mark on relating to every day struggles and strife. The music is very harsh and in your face but there is a certain innocence within it which I think comes from putting your heart into something. Our past recording experiences didn’t quite hold up to this one, although our Sun Studio session proved to be a unique experience and somewhat dreamy, working with Pete Deboer at World Famous Studios is one of the best decisions we’ve ever made as a band, he truly knows what he’s doing and captured the essence of what we were trying to create, which really helped us all produce this record, I think a positive attitude goes a long way too in a situation that can grow stressful quickly.
Exposed Vocals: How do you define and describe your sound?
Chaos, Hypnotizing at times
Exposed Vocals: Any new videos on the way?
We are releasing three videos for this album, all to be released before the full album is out in August. Right now keep your eyes peeled for “Killbilly” set to be released June 8th.
Exposed Vocals: Where can we catch a show soon?
Right now we are booking a tour that will stretch from Denver to Kentucky, then we head south towards Florida and make our way back up through Texas, that will be September-October with dates TBA. We currently have a few shows booked here in Denver with some Metal bands July 5th at 3 Kings, Embrace of Thorns, Vile Aesthetic and our good friends in Pile of Priests, along with Denver Hex Fest September 7th. Next weekend we head out to the 14th annual Pondstock, which is a unique festival in Nebraska where a lot of friends and fellow musicians gather to raise hell in a field.
Exposed Vocals: When can we download the new album?
We will be releasing songs now until August 8th when the full album will be ready for download, we are currently accepting pre orders for “The Feral Few” on Vinyl and CD
Keep your eyes peeled for upcoming releases, we are putting a lot of heart and effort into delivering you art that will provoke a certain authentic feeling that we feel is unique yet esteemed with sights and sounds that trigger a certain amount of nostalgia, we appreciate any support and we hope to see you at a Saddle show near you, Soon.
