Exposed Vocals: So tell us your story. Where did you grow up? What made you decide to become an artist?
Kendra: I spent my childhood in Italy and France, then moved to the US when I was 15 and have been pursuing my music career in New York City ever since. I’ve always been passionate about music, and singing is my way of expressing myself. I always knew that I wanted to become a singer.
Exposed Vocals: Since everyone was a start-up once, can you give any smaller or local artists looking to get gigs and airplay some tips?
Kendra: Starting out in the music business can be tough. My best advice would be to follow your intuition and go after as many opportunities as you can. Learn to love the process and follow your path as if success was inevitable.
Exposed Vocals: Do you ever make mistakes during performances? How do you handle that?
Kendra: Of course I do! And it has helped me grow and get better every single time. A few bumps down the road can actually teach you a lot about yourself.
Exposed Vocals: How do you find ways to promote your music? What works best for you?
Kendra: My favorite way of promoting myself is, of course, performing! However I also try to be very consistent in updating my fans through social media and music apps on a regular basis.
Exposed Vocals: If you could perform anywhere and with any artists (Dead or Alive) where and who would it be with? Why?
Kendra: If give the opportunity, I would love to perform with artists such as Amy Winehouse, Prince, and – among most recent celebrities – Asap Rocky,.
Exposed Vocals: So, what’s next? Any new upcoming projects that you want to talk about?
Kendra: Over the course of the last couple weeks I’ve been in the process of shooting the music videos for my latest tracks, You can check out the official video for my single ‘Air Pack Jet’ now available on Youtube! While in the process of shooting my next videos, I am also working on some new music that I will be thrilled to announce when the time will come.
Exposed Vocals: If you weren’t making music, what would you be doing?
Kendra: Dancing is one of my greatest passions along with music, I have a strong background in ballet, and I still pursue it even though I chose to focus on music. If I weren’t a singer I would be focusing on my dancing career.
Exposed Vocals: What should fans look forward to in the next year or so?
Kendra: Stay on the lookout for the upcoming music video for my single ‘Rude’ featuring Snoop Dogg! Which I will be shooting over the next few weeks.
Exposed Vocals: Any Shout-outs?
Kendra: Big shoutout to my co-writer and producer Lachi, and to Nick Nittoli and Mike Gonsolin, the team at Trend Def Studios, L.A., where I recorded my album ‘The Edge’.
