Exposed Vocals just caught an interview with Inxidy – ” lets the honesty of his carefully crafted stories lead the way. “
Raw and intimate, Inxidy delves into a confessional style with his nimble sound. Quite thoughtful the songs have a hypnotic quality to them. Things are kept to the absolute essentials for every single detail becomes fully amplified in these vast spaces. Stylistically Inxidy draws from classical, from dub, and hip-hop into the mix. Lyrically these songs reflect upon all the ups and downs that come from life. Inxidy sings upon loss, of a mother, of the end of a relationship, and does so with a tremendous sense of grace. At times Inxidy’s dreamy soundscapes and sly grooves recall the powerful understated works of James Blake, as these pieces focus upon a careful kind of introspection.
A distant, looping guitar phase anchors the poignant “Can She Save Me”. Hushed at first the piece gradually evolves into a nimble, bass-laden groove. Never becoming too overwhelming, Inxidy lets the minimal style emphasize the yearning that pours from the lyrics. Piano works wonders on the powerful “Drive” where Inxidy focuses on a loneliness, one that laments loss in a most heartfelt style. Much more energetic in temperament is the defiant sound of “Honest” where Inxidy reflects upon the sadness that can change a life, from the detrimental effects of a bad relationship to the bleakness social media can bring. Hypnotic grooves grace the mystical quality of “Obsessed”.
“Everything about Inxidy’s sound has a tremendous thoughtfulness to it, as Inxidy lets the honesty of his carefully crafted stories lead the way.”
