Exposed Vocals just caught an Interview with Anthony Edmond-Pinckney
Born in 1974 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania is the new/ Gospel artist of the generation that emerged in the wake of the influence of Edwin Hawkins, Walter Hawkins, BeBe & CeCe Winans, Clark Sisters, Daryl Coley and Donnie McClurkin . Anthony Edmond-Pinckney studied with Veronica Underwood in the informal at her home in 2013 to presently. But is his first musical training came from his late mother June Helen Edmond-Tillman. She taught Anthony to sing and about range of a singer. He also received training from his music teacher in elementary, middle and high school.
Attending West Philadelphia High school under the leader ship of music teacher/ choir director Mrs. Cheryl Hazzard M.Ed, he would be given the chance to really show his vocal talent. He was also recommend for the All City Choir where he performed at the Academy of Music in Philadelphia his senior year in 1993.
After graduating from West Philadelphia High School, the next step for Anthony would to be sing with Ezekiel Baptist Church gospel chorus under the leadership of the late Mrs. Gail Tootle and Direction Mrs. Deborah Little. He would also join the Male Chorus under the leadership of late Mrs. Burno as well as the Mass Choir under her direction.
But Anthony would want to do more in Gospel Music. He would be given a chance to help his school in 2000’s by having their first every Gospel Explosion Concert. He would invite Joy Unlimited Youth and Young Adult choir to sing at the first concert. The school raised $1,000.00 from this first concert. Anthony would become known as a gospel music promoter. The next concert he did would be at Ezekiel Baptist church with Joy Unlimited youth and young adult sing there! The concert was a hit and Anthony was ask to join the Joy Unlimited Youth Mass Choir.
But this was only the start of something bigger for Anthony Edmond-Pinckney. When Anthony started his first office job at Health Care Business Resources which is located in Bala Cynwyd on city line avenue. Anthony was given the chance to put a choir together and direct the choir in song. Anthony now starting to show more of his talent in Gospel Music and later would be ask to join the Thomas singer as well. He would later that year help produce his god brother Jospeh Akien first demo and help his send it to music companies.
Anthony Edmond-Pinckney left Ezekiel Baptist Church in 2000 and join Victory Christian Center. He sang under the leadership of Tomar Jackson for two years. He would also leave Victory Christian Center to join Greater Deliverance Church. He would sing with the male chorus for two years. He later left and started attending Holy Ghost Headquarters at the Met where he is currently under the leadership of Professor Dennis Stanley. Anthony sing on the Adult Choir, Male Chorus, and Mass Choir. When it is time for Camp Meeting Anthony is apart of the Camp meeting choir as well. In addition to Anthony have been sing with the Gospel Music Workshop of America since 2011. Before that Anthony has also sang with the Wawa Welcome America Mass Gospel Choir in 2011 for and Thanksgiving day parade. Last year he sang at the Miss America competition and the Mc Donald Largest Gospel Choir.
But Anthony was appointed as Deacon at Holy Ghost Headquarter at the Met in 2011. He felt that he need more training in God word and he started Delieverance Evangelist Bible Institute with the permission of his Apostle Mark Anthony Hatcher. Anthony Edmond-Pinckney would receive his first certificate the Bible of Life in 2012. The next certificate Anthony Edmond-Pinckney wanted to earn was his minister certificate. Anthony Edmond-Pinckney worked very hard and received minister certificate in June of 2014 and also received accomplish certificate from his spiritual mother Reverend Janet Settles for Role of a Minister, Homiletics, and Minister Practicum. Anthony is currently working on Minister of Music certificate at the Deliverance Evangelistic Bible institute. He was the minister of music at unifying faith church. Anthony has decided to earn associate degree from Community College of Philadelphia in music as well work on gospel music cd with the help of his god brother Hayward Richardson.
Last note is that Minister Anthony Edmond-Pinckney M.Ed earned his Master in education from Lincoln University in 2012. But before that he earned certificate in youth development in 2011 from Eastern University. This young man over came a learning disability, an speech impairment and low self esteem throw the grace of GOD! This is Minister Anthony Russell Leonard Edmond-Pinckney M.Ed testimony.

Exposed Vocals-So tell us your story: Where did you grow up? What made you decide to become an artist?
Anthony: My name is Anthony Michael and grew up in Philadelphia/New York City with my family.
What made me become an artist is that my mom, and uncles all sang at home as well played instruments. I was influenced by them growing up.
Exposed Vocals: Do you ever make mistakes during performances?
Anthony: Well I made mistakes during performance and during recording session as well.
Exposed Vocals: How do you handle that?
Anthony: I have been singing all my life with different choirs, and groups. I seen people just keep sing like you did not make a mistake and people never know that you did make a mistake.
Exposed Vocals: Do your tour?
Anthony: I have not started touring yet! I am just finishing up recording my freshmen album and now working on the sophomore album currently. All my music is currently on sound cloud under the Name Anthony Michael Edmond-Pinckney.
Exposed Vocals: Anything interesting happen in the studio that you think our readers would enjoy hearing about?
Anthony: I can tell you about recording the first songs and I was so nerves at crash studios. I just finish a conference about being an independent artist. I wanted to put everything I learned to use but I knew need a team to do it all. I contacted my fellow artist Michael Anthony to play piano and be my vocal coach. Along with the studio owner Michael at crash studio to be apart of the team, now my early recording I was always nerves and confident was there yet. But as you listen to some of my songs you hear the confident in my voice.
Exposed Vocals: Any planned studio upgrade?
Anthony: I was working on Christmas EP and I need to finish that as well the sophomore album. I am incorporating traditional/contemporary gospel, with some country, jazz, and classical music into albums.
Exposed Vocals: What are you working with now?
Anthony: I am still working Artist Michael Anthony and we are finishing up the EP, Sophomore Album and working on the Junior Album as well now.
Exposed Vocals: How do you find ways to promote your music?
Anthony: I promote my music on sound cloud, Black planet, Twitter, Facebook by having two artist pages, and Instagram as well.
Exposed Vocals: What works best for you?
Anthony: Facebook work well with me because I have a lot of friends and they support my efforts. Instagram work well to because I know a lot of people on there as well.
Exposed Vocals: If you could perform anywhere and with any artists ( Dead or Alive) where and who would it be with? Why?
Anthony: The artist I would pick would be the following: Mariah Carey, Shirley Ceasar, Michelle Williams, Donnie McClurkin, Oleta Adams, BeBe & CeCe Winans Walter Hawkins, Michael Jackson, Daryl Coley, Whitney Houston, Edwin Hawkins, Mahial Jackson and Luther Vandross.
Now why did I pick these artists because they had influence my style of sing and they blew! I love to hear their music and it makes me smile to hear it.
Exposed Vocals: So, what is next? Any new upcoming projects that you want to talk about?
Anthony: Right now working on recording a music videos for a couple of songs. Also got nominate for Independent New Artist of the Year award with Independent Gospel Artists Alliance.
Exposed Vocals: If you weren’t making music, what would you be doing?
Anthony: I am currently teacher. I have been teaching for 18 years now going on 19 years in October. I always love music and it has been my passion. But teaching is something I fell in love with right after graduating from Peirce College in 2003. I enjoy teaching high school students and middle school students. I love hearing their stories and share my life stories with them as well.
Exposed Vocals: What should fans look forward to in the next year or so?
Anthony: They should look forward to me being on tour. A lot of new music and videos to accompany the new music as well!
