Exposed Vocals just caught an interview with AeeDeeTee
Multi-talented artist AeeDeeTee has risen from the trenches of trauma to create a timeless collection of spiritually driven stories of healing, growth and enlightenment in the form of her latest mixed-genre album.
At the tender age of ten, AeeDeeTee discovered her passion for poetry. That passion eventually grew into a love of music on many levels including playing instruments, spoken word, and singing. As a lightworker, she has learned how to compose and deliver music that enables her to spread light to all who listen. No longer internalizing or harvesting pain, AeeDeeTee’s music embodies the philosophy she now lives by. “Seemingly negative experiences often provide opportunities for growth and expansion. I used to dwell on those painful events and used music to share my pain with others. Today, I am able to acknowledge pain as a stepping stone. I filter the energy in my music, by only releasing light lyrics, solid flowetry, and powerful testimonies,” disclosed AeeDeeTee.
Music has been very instrumental in providing AeeDeeTee with an ongoing form of therapy and empowerment. Her style can be described as alternative R&B. In recent years, she has collaborated with different artists including 7AM. Their emotionally compelling track “See God” was released in 2018 and has become a fan favorite for listeners around the globe. AeeDeeTee is an eclectic artist with a unique sound that people from all walks of life can genuinely connect with and thoroughly enjoy.
Exclusive Interview
Exposed Vocals: So tell us your story. Where did you grow up? What made you decide to become an artist?
AeeDeeTee : I was born and raised in Alabama. I became an artist at the age of ten when I began writing and performing spoken word poetry. Around that time, I realized that poetry was my form of self-expression. Soon after, I began placing emphasis around delivering my lyrics in a fashion where I encapsulate vulnerability, strife, growth, and package everything with the purest form of love, light, and energy so that my listeners can relate and understand that he/she is never alone in any circumstance—that unconditional self-love is something that transforms from within and supports you throughout your journey.
Exposed Vocals: Since everyone was a start-up once, can you give any smaller or local bands or artists looking to get gigs and airplay some tips?
AeeDeeTee : If you’re serious about your craft, take the steps necessary to ensure you’re a BMI or ASACP artist. As a registered artist, you’re presented with performance opportunities and networking engagements that contribute to your growth as an artist. Additionally, you should register your works of art to ensure that your deliverables are legally protected.
Exposed Vocals: Do you ever make mistakes during performances? How do you handle that?
AeeDeeTee : Instead of viewing performance mistakes as roadblocks, view them as building blocks. When I’ve made performance mistakes in the past, I’ve picked up where I left off with a mental note of where I went wrong so this isn’t a recurring mistake.
Exposed Vocals: Do you tour? Anything interesting happen on tour that you think our readers would enjoy hearing about?
AeeDeeTee : I haven’t toured just yet, but I’m looking forward to connecting with new supporters and listeners.
Exposed Vocals: Any planned studio upgrades? What are you working with now?
AeeDeeTee : I currently have a full studio setup where I plan to incorporate a stage.
Exposed Vocals: How do you find ways to promote your music? What works best for you?
AeeDeeTee : I thoroughly enjoy networking and where I am in the life, the connections I make are really handfuls of organic fertilizer that expands the growth of the seeds I continue to water daily. The promotion from that aspect is energetically transferred. Playlisting and Social media outlets would be the music promotion avenues.
Exposed Vocals: If you could perform anywhere and with any artists (Dead or Alive) where and who would it be with? Why?
AeeDeeTee : I’d love to perform with Londrelle, Sade, Tupac and other similar-minded artists to increase the frequency in which listeners vibrate when they hear our music. In terms of location, the sky is the limit!
Exposed Vocals: So, what’s next? Any new upcoming projects that you want to talk about?
AeeDeeTee : I’m currently releasing singles from my up and coming album entitled “The Time Is Now”. I also host a segmented show entitled “Talks with Aee” where I converse with creatives and discuss everything from Spirituality to current events. These shows can be found on IG @AeeDeeTee.
Exposed Vocals: If you weren’t making music, what would you be doing?
AeeDeeTee : When I’m not making music, I’m creating delicious vegan soul food that’s filled with nutrients infused with amazing love and energy.
Exposed Vocals: What should fans look forward to in the next year or so?
Ar AeeDeeTee : My supporters should be aware that I’ll be releasing more content on a monthly basis; that’s something definitely to look forward to—to heal from. I’m also in collab season where I’m collaborating with like-minded artists from all around the world. I’m also preparing for a few virtual performances that are scheduled for the months to come.
Exposed Vocals: Any Shout-outs?
AeeDeeTee : I’d like to shout out Abena for always assisting in releases and my artist development. I’d also like to shout out my team for constructive feedback and support. I’d also like to shout out my supporters and listeners for hearing my music worldwide and rocking with me throughout the years. I appreciate all of you.
