Exposed Vocals just caught an exclusive interview with SonicAmazon
Exposed Vocals: So tell us your story. Where did you grow up? What made you decide to become an artist?
I (Adriano) started songwriting at the same time I was learning piano and keyboards playing as a teenager in Brazil. I found very early in my life that my path in the musical world would be much more driven to songwriting than becoming a virtuoso pianist or keyboardist. My first professional move was being a co-founder of a Brazilian pop and adult contemporary band called “Whisper”. In 2002, Whisper got signed by Caravelas/Sonic Music Brazil but the project was cancelled one year later. I stepped out of the music scene for about a decade. On early 2016, I missed so much having the opp to develop my music once again. During those 10 years, I discovered that the internet was a game changer for songwriters. The whole music industry was 100% different than what I have witnessed 10 years earlier. Now the individual song is the main product, not the entire album, music is attached to the people mobility and has become multimedia to attend a multimedia generation of digitalized listeners. Songwriters and producers have become much more in the spotlight than before. In January 2016, I found a highly skilled musician marketplace and communities on the internet. I started collaborating (songwriting, producing and performing) 100% remotely with musicians, singers, producers and engineers from the USA, Netherlands, France, Portugal, UK, Norway, Bulgaria to name a few.
In August 2017, I have partnered with Netherlands EDM/POP producer and songwriter Brad Grobler from Netherlands. We have since then created the Sonic Amazon Project. In October we signed our first song “Come On Over” for USA DJ Mike Rizzo´s label: Global Groove Entertainment. The song is now available on Amazon, Itunes, Spotify, etc…
Exposed Vocals: Since everyone was a start-up once, can you give any smaller or local bands or artists looking to get gigs and airplay some tips?
Explore and study the best possible answers for: who will be your audience? What those people enjoy, like and dislike on music ? Depending on the music genre you will have to follow some production and songwriting formulas but, even doing that, what will be your unique characteristics? How will fans recognize your sound? There are several ways to promote your music, which will be more effective considering your available budget ?
Exposed Vocals: Do you ever make mistakes during performances? How do you handle that?
We still are non live performing artist. We are concentrating right now in original songs producing and recording. But I think it is important to move on, the audience will more plugged in your attitude than probably in a specific mistake.
Exposed Vocals: Do you tour? Anything interesting happen on tour that you think our readers would enjoy hearing about?
Not yet. Hopefully soon…
Exposed Vocals: Any planned studio upgrades? What are you working with now?
The digital technology nowadays allows producing market ready songs without the need of fancy studios and very expensive and exclusive analog gear. The Sonic Amazon project was entirely developed over the Internet, I am in Brazil, Brad is in Netherlands and we partner with musicians from USA, Norway, Portugal, Argentina, etc.. So no plans for now to upgrade a studio facility. Brad have his own mixing and mastering studio in Netherlands and that´s all we need for now.
Exposed Vocals: How do you find ways to promote your music? What works best for you?
At the moment, we work primarily on Promoting our youtube and soundcloud channels on line. As non live perfoming artist, those social media channels are our “stage” to show our art to the world.
Exposed Vocals: If you could perform anywhere and with any artists (Dead or Alive) where and who would it be with? Why?
It would be in the legendary Rock and Rio Festival together with Freddie Mercury, Whitney Houston and David Guetta (
Exposed Vocals: So, what’s next? Any new upcoming projects that you want to talk about?
We are at the final producing stages of 2 new original songs: “Give Me a Chance” is a top 40 style male singer pop song and “Just Kill the Pain” is a pop-reggaeton song with mixed English and Spanish lyrics. We are very excited about those 2 songs.
Exposed Vocals: If you weren’t making music, what would you be doing?
Working the movies and TV footage and production probably. Another wonderful and creative art form.
Exposed Vocals: What should fans look forward to in the next year or so?
They would look forward Sonic Amazon to get stronger in the social media channels, release new singles, start appearing on the charts, record more elaborated videos, and then tour !
Exposed Vocals: Any Shout-outs?
“Life is a journey not a destination” !!!
