Exposed Vocals just caught an exclusive interview with Pop/EDM Artist Gemini P – talks hit new single ‘Little Friend’
Gemini P is a Pop/EDM artist, he blends Pop and EDM with his unique mix of R&B. With influences ranging from Ne-Yo, Bruno Mars, Tiesto, Calvin Harris, Zedd, Marshmello to J Cole Kendrick Lamar and Drake, he offers a soulful take on the modern club sound, creating a new sonic landscape that’s equal parts fun and groundbreaking.
He hails from Detroit, Michigan and is the founder of his technology company Pmpire Tech. After creating a number of mobile applications in recent years, he now aims to disrupt the current Pop-EDM music scene by merging his innate passion for creating music along his rich tech-background. Gemini P’s music is reflective of his two personas mashed in one. One of these personas is joyful, dancing and loving while the other is hurtful and dark, shaped by his diverse past experiences with a variety of people.
Gemini P, a music manager, turned artist that has produced two EP’s and went on to create a Record Label/Publishing company in only six months. That is some of the strengths of a Gemini. He is adaptable and has the ability to learn quickly. This is a testament to what it takes to start from the bottom and be successful in todays music industry. If you slow – you rust. This is something that Gemini P obviously understands all too well. His break out single ‘Little Friend’ is a prime example of his unique style and how high he’s setting the bar for himself and his music career.
Overall, this is a slam dunk of an EDM track by Gemini P. ‘Little Friend’ is made for the dance-floor, and produced with Gemini P’s finger on the pulse! This is going to make waves in the clubs and could go on to become the feel good song of the summer, as well as an instant hit in the meantime. This is a highly effective pop/EDM track that combines a pop song structure with the elements of EDM that are needed to get people’s feet moving on the dance-floor. The song is packed with catchy hooks, especially the killer chorus, giving it an appeal that will go far beyond dance fans and should go down a storm with the Maroon 5 crowd with such a strong musical persona.

Exclusive Interview
Exposed Vocals: So tell us your story. Where did you grow up? What made you decide to become an artist?
Gemini P: I grew up in Detroit Michigan but I moved to Arizona when I was 21. Initially, I was involved in several different projects and one of those projects was music management. I was managing and investing in a musician that has a lot of potential. However, there were several life events that occurred for this artist, which affected his production for his album. I decided to invest the money into myself, I begun studying music and the music business. I wrote my first song in August of 2017. Once I completed my first song, I couldn’t stop writing songs. I found an inexpensive way to acquire beats and I found a low-cost engineer that was willing to work with me and I find a good tone for my voice, for my songs. Afterwards, I created a decent marketing structure for myself as an artist. I decided to form my artist image around my zodiac sign Gemini, which resembles two different personalities, because there are two sides to my personality and that’s how I formed the name Gemini P. Then, I wanted to create an image that people will remember me by, so I decided to wear a phantom mask, which symbolizes my split personalities. Studying music business allowed to me build a record label/publishing company. 6 months later, I created two EP albums, 5 singles and a Record Label.
Exposed Vocals: So, why did you decide you wanted to be a pop artist? How did you get started?
Gemini P: Funny story, when I wrote my first song, I was writing to a beat that someone was selling online. I fell in love with the beat and it influenced me to write a song. Days later, I heard a very similar beat on the radio, with someone singing on the beat. It turns out that someone was selling a beat that sounded very similar to the Ed Sheeran song “Shape of You”. I did not record the song for that similar beat but it did influence me to make songs for pop and EDM genre, those styles of music make feel happy and relaxed.
Exposed Vocals: Do you ever make mistakes during performances? How do you handle that?
