Exposed Vocals Interviews Williams Kaizari
21 years old Singer/Rapper from Belgium
Born in Paris but grew up in a small city called Poperinge.
I always loved to make music and sing, and as a little kid when i heard a beat i instantly started making remixes or to rap on a beat. Sometimes i used to skip homework just to write some poetry or lyrics.
The name willie came of my real name Williams. Since is was a little boy everybody called me Willie it’s a habit. I always told my friends and family if one day i get known i want people to recognize me like i really am and not with a different name that isnt me.
I am not the type of musician that releases work every week or month but more the type that releases two or three things in a year and surprises people or this is what i try to do.
I promised that 2016 would be a good year and i’m doing my best to keep my promise
Exposed Vocals: So tell us your story. Where did you grow up? What made you decide to become an artist?
Willie: I grew up in Poperinge that’s a small village in Flanders, Belgium. My parents always sang for me when i was a little kid and my mother used to sing in groups or in church so that influenced a big part of me wanting to sing. I always loved to make music and sing, as a kid when i heard a beat i instantly started making remixes or to rap on a beat. Sometimes i used to skip homework just to write some poetry or lyrics.
Exposed Vocals: How did you come up with that name? What was your inspiration behind it?
Willie: The name willie came of my real name Williams. Since is was a little boy everybody called me Willie it’s a habit. I always told my friends and family if one day i get known i want people to recognize me like i really am and not with a different name that isn’t me.
Exposed Vocals: What do you think about online music sharing? Do you ever give your music away for free? Why?
Willie: I think it’s the easiest way to promote yourself. You reach a bigger public. I haven’t done this yet but maybe one day, because i don’t want to make music to earn money but i want to get known and loved by people all around the world.
Exposed Vocals: Since everyone was a start-up once, can you give any smaller or local bands or artists looking to get gigs and airplay some tips?
Willie: Well, the only tip i can give is we need to cooperate and help each other. You learn everyday and if you don’t share your knowledge or experiences people will get bored.
Exposed Vocals: Where do you usually gather songwriting inspiration? What is your usual songwriting process?
Willie: Most of the time I don’t have to do a thing. I just get hit by inspiration, sometimes i’m at work or at school, othertimes i’m in the train and suddenly i have to write down something or i’ll forget. But when i really want to write something. I go to my room and close my eyes and then start to listen to music.
Exposed Vocals: Do you have a band website? What online platforms do you use to share your music?
Willie: I don’t have website yet but i share my music on twitter, soundcloud and youtube.
Exposed Vocals: If you were given half a million dollars and a year off, what would you do? How would you spend it?
Willie: I would buy myself a big studio with everything i need so i could make music whenever i wanted. And i would certainly travel around the world to discover new music, new people.
Exposed Vocals: How do you find ways to promote your music? What works best for you?
Willie: I upload my songs on youtube and soundcloud and then i post them on my twitter and facebook profile.
Exposed Vocals: So, what’s next? Any new upcoming projects that you want to talk about?
Willie: I am working on a mixtape with three chapters that reflect what i’ve been through in my life. It will be very cool because it’ll be a multicultural mixtape inspirated by my roots.
Exposed Vocals: If you weren’t making music, what would you be doing?
Willie: I think i’d be playing soccer. Either way I would be doing sports.
Exposed Vocals: How do you juggle the rest of your responsibilities while trying to stay ahead in your music life?
Willie: I try to plan everything and manage my time in the way thats best for me. Sometimes it’s hard but it works most of the time.
Exposed Vocals: What should fans look forward to in 2016?
Willie: Much more and better work. They will be surprised and proud at the same time. They will not be disapointed for waiting.
