Exposed Vocals: So tell us your story. Where did you grow up? What made you decide to become an artist?
Valleygawd : Im from valleydale in Charlotte,NC. I always loved music and rapping and i always said i was good at it so why not rap.
Exposed Vocals: How did you come up with that name? What was your inspiration behind it?
Valleygawd : I came up with valleygawd because i was born and raised in valleydale. I guess my inspiration was where i came from and who it made me become.
Exposed Vocals: What do you think about online music sharing? Do you ever give your music away for free? Why?
Valleygawd : I think online music sharing is cool. I give music away for free because it feels good knowing everyone can hear it, money or not.
Exposed Vocals: Since everyone was a start-up once, can you give any smaller or local bands or artists looking to get gigs and airplay some tips?
Valleygawd : I can honestly say that some places are hard to get gigs in but the more you push the more people will hear you and the more people that hear , the more opportunity will come your way. Everything takes time.
Exposed Vocals: Do you ever make mistakes during performances? How do you handle that?
Valleygawd : Mistakes happens all the time. And yes, i make mistakes sometimes but yoy learn the more you practice and the more you preform. The way to handle is to keep going and have fun don’t think of it as a job just do you.
Exposed Vocals: Do you tour? Anything interesting happen on tour that you think our readers would enjoy hearing about?
Valleygawd : i haven’t done any tours yet but its happening sooner or later.
Exposed Vocals: Where do you usually gather songwriting inspiration? What is your usual songwriting process?
Valleygawd : I gather songwriting inspiration from what mood im in or what things im going through at the moment. I usually listen to a beat and write my verses and then my chorus.
Exposed Vocals: Do you have a band website? What online platforms do you use to share your music?
Valleygawd : No band website at the moment. But i use my twitter and Instagram and sometimes my facebook.
Exposed Vocals: What are some really embarrassing songs that we might find on your mp3 player?
Valleygawd : My really old cover songs that i did a while back lol. I did some no g-eazy and mgk and some Tyler the creator.
Exposed Vocals: If you were given half a million dollars and a year off, what would you do? How would you spend it?
Valleygawd : I would go on a vacation to Jamaica and just write and smoke Lmao.
Exposed Vocals: Any planned studio upgrades? What are you working with now?
Valleygawd : Alot of studio upgrades lol. Im working on some videos and a big project.
Exposed Vocals: How do you find ways to promote your music? What works best for you?
Valleygawd : My crew promotes mostly but i just promote through people and social media. Interacting with fans and other rappers will get you more out there.
Exposed Vocals: If you could perform anywhere and with any artists (Dead or Alive) where and who would it be with? Why?
Valleygawd : I would love to preform with Eminem in Colorado because Eminem is just a rap god lol and Colorado is a beautiful place to be.
Exposed Vocals: So, what’s next? Any new upcoming projects that you want to talk about?
Valleygawd : Im working on a big project and working on going on a tour. Alot of big things are coming.
Exposed Vocals: If you weren’t making music, what would you be doing?
Valleygawd : I honestly have no idea
Exposed Vocals: Do you remember buying your first album? Who was it? What was going through your head?
Valleygawd : My first album was the slim shady LP. And when i first heard the album , it was on repeat for weeks lol.
Exposed Vocals: How do you juggle the rest of your responsibilities while trying to stay ahead in your music life?
Valleygawd : I just stay focused and try to fit everything together. Music is really the only thing i do in my life so its my only responsibility.
Exposed Vocals: What should fans look forward to in 2016?
Valleygawd : More music and more collaborations.
