Exposed Vocals Interviews U.K’s Sean Rivers
Exposed Vocals: How did you hear about Exposed Vocals? What made you decide to sign up?
I came across it on Twitter. I see a lot of artist being interviewed on exposed vocals. There’s some good reads and a lot of advise.
Exposed Vocals: So tell us your story. Where did you grow up? What made you decide to become an artist?
I grew up in a little village in Oxfordshire called wootton which was fun. I’ve always wanted to be a singer. My dad was my main influence to pursue it. I just love everything about music. It took me a long time to do anything publicly though. Spent most of my time singing in the bedroom and writing songs.
Exposed Vocals: What do you think about online music sharing? Do you ever give your music away for free? Why?
I think it’s a great idea. Who wouldn’t want music for free? Sharing your music online for free is the best way to get your music heard.
Exposed Vocals: Since everyone was a start-up once, can you give any smaller or local bands or artists looking to get gigs and airplay some tips?
Use criticism as a way to improve. Keep going and have fun. If it’s what you want, never give up.
Exposed Vocals: Do you ever make mistakes during performances? How do you handle that?
Most of the time lol I just smile, make a joke and carry on. Most people don’t realise anyway.
Exposed Vocals: Do you tour? Anything interesting happen on tour that you think our readers would enjoy hearing about?
Not yet. Hopefully one day.
Exposed Vocals: Where do you usually gather songwriting inspiration? What is your usual songwriting process?
I right about either experiences I’ve had or that others close to me have had. I like songs with a meaning and songs that tell a story.
Exposed Vocals: Do you have a band website? What online platforms do you use to share your music?

Exposed Vocals: What are some really embarrassing songs that we might find on your mp3 player?
I don’t think I have any embarrassing songs. Unless the braveheart theme tune counts? Don’t ask.
Exposed Vocals: If you were given half a million dollars and a year off, what would you do? How would you spend it?
I’d help my family out and put most of it into my music. A year off? Well, i have no idea. Something fun. Something different. I’d like to get a lot of song writing done.
Exposed Vocals: Any planned studio upgrades? What are you working with now?
I’m working in a small studio with a guy I met at a gig. He’s a great guy with a great set up.
Exposed Vocals: How do you find ways to promote your music? What works best for you?
All social media sites like Facebook and Twitter are great for promotion. But gigging is probably best for me at the moment.
Exposed Vocals: If you could perform anywhere and with any artists (Dead or Alive) where and who would it be with? Why?
I have way to many artist to choose. I’d love to play the main stage at Glastonbury though.
Exposed Vocals: So, what’s next? Any new upcoming projects that you want to talk about?
A very busy year so far which is nice. I’m currently working on a new EP, hopefully out in the next 2 months. Lots of gigs lined up and lots of experience to gain.
Exposed Vocals: If you weren’t making music, what would you be doing?
Dead.
Exposed Vocals: Do you remember buying your first album? Who was it? What was going through your head?
It was a Linkin Park album. Just loved the energy and feeling. Wished one day I could be just like them.
Exposed Vocals: How do you juggle the rest of your responsibilities while trying to stay ahead in your music life?
It’s stressful but so worth it. I think that’s what makes it so rewarding.
Exposed Vocals: What should fans look forward to in 2015?
Gigs gigs gigs. Lots of studio, lots of EPs. Hoping for a big year.
