Exposed Vocals Interviews Tony Hossri – lead vox, guitarist, songwriter, producer, for the band Carnelia
Exposed Vocals: So tell us your story. Where did you grow up? What made you decide to become an artist?
Tony Hossri: My name is Tony Hossri, lead vox, guitarist, songwriter, producer, for the band Carnelia. I also acted, directed, and edited the music videos for carnelia’s 10 music video’s that follow our concept album “The Journey of Men” I grew up in the suburbs near Atlanta, Georgia. I never had a passion or true love for anything till I picked up the acoustic guitar at my best friend Nick perzellas house when I was 14 years old. The real drug for music kicked in when I played my high school battle of the bands when I was 17. Till this day, I am convinced there is no greater feeling in this world then playing a big show
Exposed Vocals: What do you think about online music sharing? Do you ever give your music away for free? Why?
Tony Hossri: online music sharing is good and bad. Its good in a sense where everybody gets the chance to listen to what us artist put our whole heart and soul in to regardless of having a record label or not. It’s bad because in my opinion, music piracy is one of the few reasons why the music business is as corrupt and fake as it is today, labels would rather sign a pretty face (some lipsync live) and hire songwriters for him or her. less about talent, more about image, While real musicians sacrifice years to master there craft but are unable to sell cd’s because of piracy and not having the funds a label would provide.
Exposed Vocals: Do you have a band website? What online platforms do you use to share your music?
Tony Hossri: We have a twitter, facebook, instagram, and youtube channel. We are doing 10 music videos total for the 10 songs on our concept album (all follow the storyline). so far 4 music videos are out, so youtube is our best way of sharing our music
