This guy brother extraordinary hip-hop artist from Orlando, making music that brings back entertainment in the music industry.
He is currently performing his first mixtape, The One, at local open mic events. He plans to release another mixtape in early April and prepare for touring to begin in mid May. This guy brother is working on features with a few local artist who plan to release a collaboration mixtape in April. With plans to renovate the standard of quality in music, This guy brother has been expanding his fan base at many local performance venues and reserving spots for tours beginning in May.
Exposed Vocals: How did you hear about Exposed Vocals? What made you decide to sign up?
I heard about exposed vocals online and I decided to sign up so I can introduce myself as an artist!
Exposed Vocals: So tell us your story. Where did you grow up? What made you decide to become an artist?
I lived in Boston until I was 11 years old and then moved Florida.
I did a rap for my church choir when I was 9 after I moved to Florida I started writing raps and going to open mic nights and people liked my performances so I kept going.
Exposed Vocals: How did you come up with that name? What was your inspiration behind it?
I have four sisters and my oldest sister gave me the nickname brother. When I grew up my close friends gave me the nickname this guy. I just put the two together.
Exposed Vocals: What do you think about online music sharing? Do you ever give your music away for free? Why?
I feel like you will either gain fans or people won’t like your music. Once they like your music it becomes your job to continue to make good music for people to enjoy.
I only have one mixtape out it was free. Ive only heard great responses so it’s time to tour and show different cities what I have and a taste of what’s coming up.
Exposed Vocals: Since everyone was a start-up once, can you give any smaller or local bands or artists looking to get gigs and airplay some tips?
Get HONEST critics then work hard at music until it’s good and then network you will only get better.
Exposed Vocals: Do you ever make mistakes during performances? How do you handle that?
Not often but I practice a lot so I know the way my music goes I cover it up the best that I can if it happens.
Exposed Vocals: Do you tour? Anything interesting happen on tour that you think our readers would enjoy hearing about?
Not yet! I start touring in May.
Exposed Vocals: Where do you usually gather songwriting inspiration? What is your usual songwriting process?
I am inspired by things that happen in my life so I just write down things that I go through or things that I dream of and things that are relevant.
Exposed Vocals: Do you have a band website? What online platforms do you use to share your music?
I use social media. Instagram Twitter SnapChat Facebook SoundCloud and is all @ ThisGuyBrother!
I don’t have any songs on my phone but the most embarrassing thing you might find is a voice recording of me attempting to sing a hook I think of.
Exposed Vocals: If you were given half a million dollars and a year off, what would you do? How would you spend it?
Half $1 million I would help my parents out a little bit and get a car so I can go on tour and keep doing my thing.
Exposed Vocals: Any planned studio upgrades? What are you working with now?
I record at the hive everything is great quality blue baby bottle microphone fully padded room we don’t have million-dollar studio yet but it sounds like it!
Exposed Vocals: How do you find ways to promote your music? What works best for you?
I use social media what works best for me is word-of-mouth usually open mic night afterwords I like to network with great artist.
Exposed Vocals: If you could perform anywhere and with any artists (Dead or Alive) where and who would it be with? Why?
Anywhere would have to be halftime at the Super Bowl and the artist would have to be J.Cole
Exposed Vocals: So, what’s next? Any new upcoming projects that you want to talk about?
Yes I have a few things up my sleeve I have another mix tape on the way in April. It’s called Coming Soon. I am performing heavy to prepare for my upcoming releases. I have a feature music video coming out soon.
Exposed Vocals: If you weren’t making music, what would you be doing?
I probably would be playing baseball.
Exposed Vocals: Do you remember buying your first album? Who was it? What was going through your head?
Yes it was Lecrae rehab. I wanted to rap with him because I liked what he was talking about.
Exposed Vocals: How do you juggle the rest of your responsibilities while trying to stay ahead in your music life?
I have to find a balance between what i love. It’s difficult sometimes but I pray a lot so it gets taken care of.
Exposed Vocals: What should fans look forward to in 2015?
I plan to tour drop a couple of mixtapes and at least one album for sure. I might also be touring in your city soon so come support these shows!
