Who is TeeReal? TeeReal is a 16 year old rapper from New  Orleans,Louisiana. His favorite rappers are Kevin Gates,Lil Wayne,and Young Thug! He taught himself everything he knows about music ; song-writing,flowing,and melodies. Exposed Vocals: So tell us your story. Where did you grow up? What made you decide to become an artist?

TeeReal: I grew up in New Orleans,Louisiana. It’s a very rough city,you either become accustomed to it or find something to distract you. For me,it was music. I love listening to music and creating it. Eventually I became an artist myself. My love for music saved me.

Exposed Vocals: How did you come up with that name? What was your inspiration behind it?

TeeReal: My real name is Terrell. I wanted to use my real name as a stage name but Terrell Hudgins didn’t sound cool enough. I always keep it real, I don’t care what the situation is. So I put those two together. Terrell keeps it Real, TeeReal.

Exposed Vocals: What do you think about online music sharing? Do you ever give your music away for free? Why?

TeeReal: Of course i’ll give it away for free,unless it’s something I feel is really creative and worth buying. Something that I put my all into will be sold. I still sell my CDs though,I make each individual mixtape on my own so I have to charge for hard copies.

Exposed Vocals: Since everyone was a start-up once, can you give any smaller or local bands or artists looking to get gigs and airplay some tips?

TeeReal: Travel, never rely on your city to support you, especially if you’re from the South. They won’t care about you until you make it. I respect it though.

Exposed Vocals: Where do you usually gather songwriting inspiration? What is your usual songwriting process?

TeeReal: Energy drinks, caffeine pills, and Kevin Gates. *laugh* I usually just listen to beats for 30 minutes, find one I like. Then stay up till 7 AM trying to finish it.

Exposed Vocals: Do you have a band website? What online platforms do you use to share your music?

TeeReal: I love youtube. Soundcloud cool but I think you can interact with fans better through youtube.

Exposed Vocals: If you were given half a million dollars and a year off, what would you do? How would you spend it?

TeeReal: I’m taking my family out to eat soon as I get the check! *laugh* I’m giving my mom a hundred thousand. With the rest, I’d get a nice apartment with some nice furniture and relax for 2 solid months! I’d most likely brand other artist with the remaining money. I want to start my own record label some day and with half a milli, I bet I could do it

Exposed Vocals: How do you find ways to promote your music? What works best for you?

TeeReal: I’m always looking for new ways, but mainly social media blast. Also telling girls about my music at the mall and shit like that. If they dig the conversation they’re going to go home and search me up! They always tell their friends about me afterwards.

Exposed Vocals: So, what’s next? Any new upcoming projects that you want to talk about?

TeeReal: I’m just focused on making singles at the moment. I’m trying to get better features. I haven’t worked with many artist.

Exposed Vocals: If you weren’t making music, what would you be doing?

TeeReal: Selling drugs. *laughs* Doing music videos probably. Im a big a ass nerd, I love editing videos and shit like that. I want to go to college for it,maybe.

Exposed Vocals: How do you juggle the rest of your responsibilities while trying to stay ahead in your music life?

TeeReal: I don’t, I block it all out. When i’m focused on a song,nothing else matters! My phone is off. It’s just me, some Takis, and a beat.

Exposed Vocals: What should fans look forward to in 2016?

TeeReal: I’m not focused on the future, but hopefully some features with bigger names! I really want to do features with my favorite rappers like Kevin Gates, Young Thug, and Rae Sremmurd.
