Exposed Vocals: So tell us your story. Where did you grow up? What made you decide to become an artist?
We grew up in Denver Colorado, one of us on the westside and other on the northside of town. We started rapping at a young age and went on to battle rap at house parties. We decided to start making cd’s and got a good reaction from our people and from then we kept on going and building more followers that pushed us.
Exposed Vocals: How did you come up with that name? What was your inspiration behind it?
Stryker was given his name at a young age when he use to be a tagger. They would say “He strikes the wall ” which gave him the name Stryker . MFT got his name from his initials of his name with the F in the middle that means different things at times. We decided to put our names together and call us Stryker & MFT since that’s what people knew us as in the street.
Exposed Vocals: What do you think about online music sharing? Do you ever give your music away for free? Why
I think if you know what you’re doing you can make a lot of money. Yes we do give away some of our music for free just to keep the buzz going and fans entertained. After all we do it because we love music, not the money, which will eventually come.
Exposed Vocals: Since everyone was a start-up once, can you give any smaller or local bands or artists looking to get gigs and airplay some tips?
I would suggest for artists to get airplay to sign up on all the music distribution sites they can. Put your music in the hand of Dj’s not only locally but by the thousands so your music actually gets pushed. Also to get on gigs put yourself out there and talk to these promoters. Don’t expect everything to be free and handed to you and be ready to invest if you want to perform or your music to even get out there. This business is a commision based business you have to think of it that way.
Exposed Vocals: Do you ever make mistakes during performances? How do you handle that?
Yes , I just keep on going , I do good at playing it off lol.
Exposed Vocals: Do you tour? Anything interesting happen on tour that you think our readers would enjoy hearing about?
Yes we have toured the whole state of Colorado, been to Nebraska and New Mexico but have not traveled much. We plan to though soon as our social networks are now starting to boom.
Exposed Vocals: Where do you usually gather songwriting inspiration? What is your usual songwriting process?
I have to first feel the beat, from there go off a few chorus’s that sound catchy then come up with a concept for the lyrics. We try to make something that goes all together so you can listen to it over and over again instead of just putting out a 100 tracks and you only liking one.
Exposed Vocals: Do you have a band website? What online platforms do you use to share your music?
Yes you can check out our website at http://strykernmft.wix.com/strykerandmft and we have a wikipedia page that will be up soon also . We mostly use Reverbnation and Facebook to share our music.
Exposed Vocals: What are some really embarrassing songs that we might find on your mp3 player?
Don’t have an Mp3 player but if I did probably the ones that just pop in my play list that I don’t want there.
Exposed Vocals: If you were given half a million dollars and a year off, what would you do? How would you spend it?
I would open up a couple business and do some major concerts to make my buzz even bigger. I would defintely be smart about it though and make that 500,000$ into a million and so and and so forth to keep it going.
Exposed Vocals: Any planned studio upgrades? What are you working with now?
I plan to upgrade to the bigger side of the studio i have been going to. They have a revolving floor and the setup is way better.
Exposed Vocals: How do you find ways to promote your music? What works best for you?
We focus mainly on building our social networks up , that has proven well on getting our name out there.

I would perform with 2Pac and Notorious Big at the Red Rocks Theater in Colorado
Exposed Vocals: So, what’s next? Any new upcoming projects that you want to talk about?
We have some concerts coming up that we are performing on and conducting ourselves and are working on our 4th Album now to be released this year.
