Exposed Vocals: So tell us your story. Where did you grow up? What made you decide to become an artist?
Soultronixx Deep : I grew up in a Village Called Dzanani found in Limpopo (Venda) I was Raised by my Grandparents and Single Mom,grew up in a good family background that’s very supportive but when they knew I was into Deejaying everything changed hahaha but they ended up giving up and let me be,I decided to become an artist when my cousin Sandile Masebe Better Known as Sand isle introduced me to house music and that’s when i started Deejaying and learning how to produce and know basic stuff about music
Exposed Vocals: How did you come up with that name? What was your inspiration behind it?
Soultronixx Deep : Before my Recent name I was Called Fhiwaz Da Dk but when you grow musically and get to know better and getting educated about music that’s where I had to Rebrand and change my name, that’s when i combined Soul that means Soulful and Tronixx for electronic music that I sometimes play and Deep for Deep house ,and Soultronixx Deep Was Born
Exposed Vocals: What do you think about online music sharing? Do you ever give your music away for free? Why?
Soultronixx Deep :Online music sharing is both good and bad since there’s no bad publicity, piracy killed a lot of musicians in South Africa ,sales have dropped but through thee passion and how driven we are we continuously do music,I don’t really give out my music for free,well I used to do that it helped me build my fanbase nevertheless file sharing is bad.. it’s killing talents
Exposed Vocals: Since everyone was a start-up once, can you give any smaller or local bands or artists looking to get gigs and airplay some tips?
Soultronixx Deep : I always tell my fellow producer friends that they should make use of social media, because its the fastest way to communicate with the world it’s easy to connect to whoever you want to get connected with and get to talk to promoters or negotiate a reasonable price for their performance,for radio airplay they should submit their music to e-mail’s provided by radio stations so they get some airplays its not easy but patience is the name of the game
Exposed Vocals: Do you ever make mistakes during performances? How do you handle that?
Soultronixx Deep : no deejay is perfect mistakes are bound to happen,either by having an error or scratch on your usb
Or Cd that disturbs your whole momentum but bouncing back is easy you just find a way out by using effects and quickly que in the following song but never show that you made a mistake,just keep going on.. everyone makes mistakes and people love seeing the confidence in you after you made that mistake its nature
Exposed Vocals: Do you tour? Anything interesting happen on tour that you think our readers would enjoy hearing about?
Soultronixx Deep : I don’t really your but I do get bookings from Our of South Africa and local gigs,I’m Currently busy with my birthday tour Which Commences on the 8th of September at House 22 (Pretoria)
Exposed Vocals: Where do you usually gather songwriting inspiration? What is your usual songwriting process?
Soultronixx Deep :a lot of musicians inspire me and i get my writing skills from their music and nature its self tend to get me going.. my environment is surrounded by trees and the silence around me brings out the best in me,when I do music depending on what I have to produce either I start with drums or Get the groove first either way works for me
Exposed Vocals: Do you have a band website? What online platforms do you use to share your music?
Soultronixx Deep:
No but I’m a co founder of a Record label called Seroba Music with De Montuh and Have bluesoil (SA) and Lebo (London)Signed in the Label and we use Traxsource,ITunes & Xclusiveplay to name a few that we use to share our music so people can purchase.
Exposed Vocals: What are some really embarrassing songs that we might find on your mp3 player?
Soultronixx Deep :hahaha nothing I listen to music not Genres
Exposed Vocals: If you were given half a million dollars and a year off, what would you do? How would you spend it?
Soultronixx Deep : I would build a Studio so that I can help those who have the same passion as I do back home because some people cant afford to buy all this expensive studio equipment and I would use that time off to spend with those kids and some of the time will be for my family
Exposed Vocals: Any planned studio upgrades? What are you working with now?
Soultronixx Deep: yeah planning on Getting bigger studio monitors and recording equipment.. get my room sound proofed and a keyboard… I’m currently using Fruityloops 10,Lenovo Pc i5 Processor,presonus audio interface,Sanchez midi keyboard and Monkey Banana 5′ Monitor Speakers
Exposed Vocals: How do you find ways to promote your music? What works best for you?
Soultronixx Deep : Sending Promos to radio stations and fellow djs and social media platform works best
Exposed Vocals: If you could perform anywhere and with any artists (Dead or Alive) where and who would it be with? Why?
Soultronixx Deep : I really Would Want to perform at Tomorrowland with Dvbbs they are my favourate EDM Producers I, played at the same event with them Last Year “Rage Festival” but didn’t get to meet them in person
Exposed Vocals: So, what’s next? Any new upcoming projects that you want to talk about?
Soultronixx Deep: Yes I have few projects Lined Up.. I Recently Produced 2 Songs for Jaguar Paw (Deep Forest) Album that will be out this Year and Currently Have An Ep coming Out Under Global Deplomacy (USA) with Remixes from Griffith Malo,VPS Projects and the Legendary N’Dinga Gaba From USA

Soultronixx Deep : I Would Be A Vet Dr or Doing Something that has to Do with Agricultural sciences
Exposed Vocals: Do you remember buying your first album? Who was it? What was going through your head?
Soultronixx Deep: honestly speaking the first album I bought was House Afrika Sessions it was a Bumper pack that had Liquideep,deepXpresion,dj Thobs and C9ine..it was my biggest buy ever and felt good about it by showing support and respecting the craft
Exposed Vocals: How do you juggle the rest of your responsibilities while trying to stay ahead in your music life?
Soultronixx Deep :I sometimes derail when I get Cought Up in the music and forget about my academics but then I instantly bounce back and now I’m focusing on My grades but still do.music on my spare time its all about balancing and prioritising
