Exposed Vocals: So tell us your story. Where did you grow up? What made you decide to become an artist?
Sonny Daze: I grew up in Colorado Springs, Colorado with divored parents and seven brothers and sisters, myself being the second oldest. I found myself getting into writing after an argument with a guy in a line at a Tech N9ne concert which lead to me writing a cover to wiz khalifas black and yellow. I began performing the song at parties and people loved it so i continued to write music.
Exposed Vocals: How did you come up with that name? What was your inspiration behind it?
Sonny Daze: Honestly it was the result of a long trip in the sand dunes at Alamosa, CO. I was a little out of my mind and lost looking into space and it came to me. It was the night before easter so the name came as almost a sign that things were starting to change for the better and life was going to get brighter, hense Sonny Daze.
Exposed Vocals: What do you think about online music sharing? Do you ever give your music away for free? Why?
Sonny Daze: I think its an awesome way to get your craft out to a bigger audience than you could by just giving or selling a mixtape. All of my music up to date has been for free download, although i do charge for features. I think having my music so easily available for download lets me reach more people through word of mouth. Sometimes you have to just trust that people are playing your stuff and sharing it with their friends.
Exposed vocals: Since everyone was a start-up once, can you give any smaller or local bands or artists looking to get gigs and airplay some tips?
Sonny Daze: Talk to people! Dont be afraid to network! Chances are you’re bound to get in touch with people who can make that happen for you.
Exposed Vocals: Do you ever make mistakes during performances? How do you handle that?

Exposed Vocals: Where do you usually gather songwriting inspiration? What is your usual songwriting process?
