Simona Georgieva is a 24 year old singer, songwriter from Bulgaria. She is playing guitar and often collaborates with other musicians. Mostly she is known for her acoustic covers and distinguished singing voice.
With a scent of a certain melancholy in her sound and with her undeniable honesty you can’t stay impartial. Her music is stripped down to feelings, her voice is raw, yet full of emotion. It takes you places, it is relatable and it does sounds modern.

Exposed Vocals: How did you hear about Exposed Vocals? What made you decide to sign up?
Simona: I am pretty sure it was on Twitter, I was having some notifications, that led me up to Exposed Vocals, so I followed the channel and got interested.
Exposed Vocals: So tell us your story. Where did you grow up? What made you decide to become an artist?
Simona: I was born and raised in a little town called Popovo in Bulgaria. I was always occupied with art – drawing, painting, singing. Nothing made me decide I want to be an artist, I just knew. With the years passing by, I was just getting more convinsed.
Exposed Vocals: How did you come up with that name? What was your inspiration behind it?
Simona: I am using my own name, simple as that. 🙂
Exposed Vocals: What do you think about online music sharing? Do you ever give your music away for free? Why?
Simona: I think, that the online music sharing gives you the wonderful opportunity to be heard from really everyone around the world. My music is shared and I do give my music away for free in order to get more known.
Exposed Vocals: Since everyone was a start-up once, can you give any smaller or local bands or artists looking to get gigs and airplay some tips?
Simona: I will always consider myself a start-up probably, but if I have to give someone advise, I would say “Be yourself, ultimately. Be truthfull in your music and in your life.”
Exposed Vocals: Do you ever make mistakes during performances? How do you handle that?
Simona: I use to do mistakes before, when I was younger and the nerves were getting to me more. No if I feel unsure about some part of the song, I rehearse it untill I am satisfied with the result. You have to believe in yourself in order to be believed.
Exposed Vocals: Do you tour? Anything interesting happen on tour that you think our readers would enjoy hearing about?
Simona: I have never been on tour, but it is something I will most certainly do, I always enjoy traveling.
Exposed Vocals: Where do you usually gather songwriting inspiration? What is your usual songwriting process?
Simona: Well, it is never the same, really. Sometimes I write the lyrics first, then I come up with the melody, other times it’s the opposite. It is emotions that provoke me to write – my own or some other’s. Sometimes is a painfully slow process, other times it’s coming out with the speed of the light. 🙂
Exposed Vocals: Do you have a band website? What online platforms do you use to share your music?
Simona: I am currently sharing my stuff on Sound Cloud, You Tube and I promote myself mostly in Facebook, Twitter and Tumblr.
Exposed Vocals: What are some really embarrassing songs that we might find on your mp3 player?
Simona: I don’t think there are any. 🙂
Exposed Vocals: If you were given half a million dollars and a year off, what would you do? How would you spend it?
Simona: I would start recording of course, I will travel a lot, meet other musicians, collaborate with them and have fun.
Exposed Vocals: Any planned studio upgrades? What are you working with now?
Simona: Right now I am experimenting with electronic beats, this kind of music, combined with my voice gives interesting results so far. It sounds modern, but it is still close to everyone.
Exposed Vocals: How do you find ways to promote your music? What works best for you?
Simona: As I said earlier, I promote on Facebook, Twitter and Tumblr.
Exposed Vocals: If you could perform anywhere and with any artists (Dead or Alive) where and who would it be with? Why?
Simona: I always loved and will love Amy Winehouse, so that would be the one for me to perform with. Where – anywhere.
Exposed Vocals: So, what’s next? Any new upcoming projects that you want to talk about?
Simona: I am always working on my music, soon I plan to release a few new songs, a little bit different, after that, let’s hope – an album.
Exposed Vocals: If you weren’t making music, what would you be doing?
Simona: It could be everything, but I would probably still be an artist. I paint, so I would try to do that for a living.
Exposed Vocals: Do you remember buying your first album? Who was it? What was going through your head?
Simona: I think my first album was P!nk’s “Can’t take me home”. I always loved her art, she is always impressive to me.
Exposed Vocals: How do you juggle the rest of your responsibilities while trying to stay ahead in your music life?
Simona: It is never easy when you have to work and your work is not related to music at all. I find it depressing. I am currently unemployed, I quit my last job, I want to be all about the music. It is risky, but what isn’t?
