Exposed Vocals: So tell us your story. Where did you grow up? What made you decide to become an artist?  

NOSA: I grew up in San Antonio , TX  and have lived here my whole life there’s no other place I’d rather call home! I started rapping when I was a sophomore in high school with inspiration from a friend and San Antonio artist D,Shaun

Exposed Vocals: How did you come up with that name? What was your inspiration behind it?

NOSA : Its actually a shock to me for the people that know me who ask this question because it’s actually pretty simple. My name is Matt Espinosa and my name comes from the last 4 letters of my last name NOSA!

Exposed Vocals: What do you think about online music sharing? Do you ever give your music away for free? Why?

NOSA: Its a way to get your music out there and showcase your abilities as an artist! It’s not so much the fact that I give it away for free it’s that I make music in the interest of me and the people I hope to reach to become fans! I could care less if my music is free as long As other artist and listeners can get to it and hear the full product without paying than that’s all I care about. The money and all that other stuff is just a plus!

Exposed Vocals: Since everyone was a start-up once, can you give any smaller or local bands or artists looking to get gigs and airplay some tips?

NOSA: Yea! Don’t care or give a crap about what anyone says u go out and do u! It’s the music industry your gonna have haters everywhere trying to bash u down and your music. Focus on u and the loyal people following you along the journey but most importantly have fun with it!

Exposed Vocals: Do you ever make mistakes during performances? How do you handle that?

NOSA:  Its just a matter of being yourself with the music you created if you make a mistake you make a mistake brush it off and continue with the song and just be yourself on the stage!

Exposed Vocals: Do you tour? Anything interesting happen on tour that you think our readers would enjoy hearing about? 

NOSA: Haven’t gotten a tour yet!

Exposed Vocals: Where do you usually gather songwriting inspiration? What is your usual songwriting process?  

NOSA: Usually most of my songs come from the way I’m feeling in that specific time period whatever I feel I write about! I start my usual writing process by opening up my computer plotting the instrumental on there and just start free-styling and once I got my first verse or hook down then the rest speaks for itself!

Exposed Vocals: Do you have a band website? What online platforms do you use to share your music?

NOSA: I mainly use SoundCloud, Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook I feel those are some of the most used social media sites in my eyes and SoundCloud is an easy way to promote my music and getting it out for everyone to hear!

Exposed Vocals: What are some really embarrassing songs that we might find on your mp3 player?

NOSA: I mean most of my playlist is nothing but rap from Local SA artist all the way to big name artist like Future , 21 Savage , Lil Yachty etc. But you can ask my homies that there might be one genre I show some love for!

Exposed Vocals: If you were given half a million dollars and a year off, what would you do? How would you spend it?  

NOSA: I would start off by giving most of it back to my parents or buying them a bigger and better house and whatever I have left I would use for just me and new studio equipment and I wouldn’t take a year off I’d still be grinding!

Exposed Vocals: Any planned studio upgrades? What are you working with now?  

NOSA: Right now we working with a pretty nice set up we working with Logic Pro 9 and just got a new audio interface and very expensive mic we been putting to use on our last 2 songs.

Exposed Vocals: How do you find ways to promote your music? What works best for you?

NOSA: Sometimes the promotions happen it’s self if people really like it they will take videos on snap of them dancing and singing to it or will shout us out on Twitter but once a song drops I post it every where I can and sending it to whoever I can!

Exposed Vocals: If you could perform anywhere and with any artists (Dead or Alive) where and who would it be with? Why? 

NOSA: I would perform at the Aztec Theatre in San Antonio in front of my hometown with drake and future cause those are some of my top artist that I follow!

Exposed Vocals: So, what’s next? Any new upcoming projects that you want to talk about?

NOSA: Right now I’m working on a 5 song EP which is untitled at the moment but basically it’s got a soft warm type vibe to that would surely put you in the feels. It’s about a girl that was very important in my life and different situations while I was with her.

Exposed Vocals: If you weren’t making music, what would you be doing?  

NOSA: If I wasn’t making music I’d probably be some kid on his couch playing Xbox during the whole summer just at home doing nothing haha.

Exposed Vocals: Do you remember buying your first album? Who was it? What was going through your head?  

NOSA: Probably one of the first I ever bought was an Elvis album! Im a huge fan of Elvis and have been ever since I was a kid I just love his style and voice! I constantly had it on repeat.

Exposed Vocals: How do you juggle the rest of your responsibilities while trying to stay ahead in your music life?  

NOSA: I put my priorities where they need to be I do the things that need to be done and if I have a time whether it’s 5 minutes or 5 hours I’ll use that time to work on any songs I have unfinished.

Exposed Vocals: What should fans look forward to in 2016?  

NOSA: For music to constantly be coming out in SoundCloud! Just keep listening and racking up plays!
