Exposed Vocals: So tell us your story. Where did you grow up? What made you decide to become an artist?  

Mellah Nix grew up in Markham Ill I was raised by my Granny and Grandad after my mothers death,

Me and Kid Sister are from the same Neighborhood WOOOOOW!

I became an artist because I’m about expression not conformity and Politrix so i use my art whether visual or lyrical to combat that!

Exposed Vocals: How did you come up with that name? What was your inspiration behind it?

My name came about because originally fb deemed my other moniker inappropriate and so the name came to me as a voice in my head it said Mellah Nix which means Gods Victory my birth number is 7!

Exposed Vocals: What do you think about online music sharing? Do you ever give your music away for free? Why?

I’m a full supporter of online sharing and Yezzir i give my music out for free it cuts out the middle man and JANKY PROMOTERZ!

Exposed Vocals: Since everyone was a start-up once, can you give any smaller or local bands or artists looking to get gigs and airplay some tips?

My advice is to go to the local spots bars etc start small and be str8 up with those people get a small set 15-30 after awhile you’ll start to grow…..And do your own distribution research everything!

Exposed Vocals: Where do you usually gather songwriting inspiration? What is your usual songwriting process?  

My inspiration comes from my expieriences an me being introspective….the beat speaks and I listen we both have a conversation!

I dont just jump at it I meditate on some beats then wah lah!

Exposed Vocals: If you were given half a million dollars and a year off, what would you do? How would you spend it?  

When I get a half Mil I want to get children from foster care adopt & get them set up for college then reach out to single mothers

after that it’s Spring Breakn in Montego bay

Exposed Vocals: How do you find ways to promote your music? What works best for you?

I like to promote several ways word of mouth and online if its online its thru Audiomack FB twitter especially twitter , Exposed Vocals found me on Twitter see It worx!

Exposed Vocals: So, what’s next? Any new upcoming projects that you want to talk about?

Yes my next project is titled “STRIPPAZNSK8BOARDZ” contrast is all I’m saying.

Exposed Vocals: If you weren’t making music, what would you be doing?  

Who knows what I’d be doing ….. Staying away from negativity!

Exposed Vocals: How do you juggle the rest of your responsibilities while trying to stay ahead in your music life?  

My responsibilities help keep me on my toes and keep me sharp my day job especially for those of you that have made it know if you

can deal with a restaurant “YOU CAN DEAL WITH THE INDUSTRY” So I feel that I have a duty to more than myself moreless to those I want to touch ARTISTICALLY!

All i have to say is by the grace of god He allows me to share with everyone and thats it!
