Exposed Vocals Interviews Lost Star
Hailing from Memphis, Tennessee, Lost Star is the moniker behind the music of AWARD WINNING hip hop artist and songwriter Ramon Dennis.
At age 11, Lost Star has been developing his skills as he began writing music and setting high goals from himself. Influenced by artists such as Nas, Tupac and Kanye West he developed a mindset where he is able to create powerful, meaningful and expressive lyrics, the kind of music that is a true wake up call for a dormant generation.
With determination and hard work his music made it on the Top 10 on the Reverbnation’s Hip Hop Charts and even held the number 1 spot on several occasions. As his career continued to soar, he had a popular interview with Canadian based blog site Violet Banana and Dyme Squad Magazine that was titled “Most Popular Feature” back in early 2014.
Also in 2014, Lost Star was nominated for the M.I.A.M.I Mike Grind Hard Award at the SCM Award Show in Memphis.
As he continued to grow as a artist he learned that hard work paid off, he won a contest on Reverbnation and his music was featured and added to rotation on Dope Souf Radio.
Lost Star was nominated for two awards for the 2015 SCM awards, Slept On Male Artist of the Year and movement of the year following his popular movement “I Am Great”,
where he won and brought home 1 of 2 of those awards. He was presented the 2015 SCM Award for Slept on Male Artist of the year.
Currently, he is setting on releasing two projects this year for his fans. One to be titled “Be Great” which is a prelude to the release of his Debut EP Release.
When asked about how his music differs from the music that is currently out, these were his words:
“The music scene is so over saturated, things are definitely easier for artists. They can make music cheaper which means more recordings even though, more recordings doesn’t equal more quality, care or talent. The truth in most cases is that the music that gets released doesn’t send a message to influence our youth positively and it is no longer interesting.
Luckily, every once in a while a true gem shines through the pile of stones.
This the case of Lost Star.
