KiDD JET was born JaQuan Edward Todd on April 2nd, 1995. He started his rap career in 2009 and since then he’s created his own music label (Soulr Systm), he owns a production company (KjFilms), and is continuing to raise as a Hip-Hop artist.Â

Exposed Vocals: So tell us your story. Where did you grow up? What made you decide to become an artist?
KiDD JET: I grew up in Birmingham, Alabama. I didn’t really have my father in my life so I didn’t have a male figure to look up to. Then my mom married my step dad and I looked up to him as well as his brother (Luke) so when they started rapping I followed in their steps.
Exposed Vocals: How did you come up with that name? What was your inspiration behind it?
KiDD JET: Well of my initials of my full name is JET, (J)aQuan (E)dward (T)odd, but KiDD came from when Luke called himself KiDD Louiie at the time.
Exposed Vocals: What do you think about online music sharing? Do you ever give your music away for free? Why?
KiDD JET: I think its the future. It’s a easy way for people to find and spread music. I give my music away for free because I want as many people to hear it whether they can afford it or now.
Exposed Vocals: Since everyone was a start-up once, can you give any smaller or local bands or artists looking to get gigs and airplay some tips?
KiDD JET: It’s not easy but if you constantly look online, find open mic in your city, even get into shows where you have to sell the tickets; it all helps. Just stay focused.
Exposed Vocals: Do you ever make mistakes during performances? How do you handle that?
KiDD JET: Definitely, you have to just keep going. I learned, from my time in   theater, that you have to adapt to any situation.
Exposed Vocals: Do you tour? Anything interesting happen on tour that you think our readers would enjoy hearing about?
KiDD JET: Â Not yet. I’ve been dealing with my health and once i get back to 100% ima head on my first tour.
Exposed Vocals: Where do you usually gather songwriting inspiration? What is your usual songwriting process?
KiDD JET: Whenever i hear an amazing beat it’s like it talks to me. The words just pop in my head and i just have to put it together.
Exposed Vocals: Do you have a band website? What online platforms do you use to share your music?
KiDD JET: Yes, I have a music label named “Soulr Systm”. Our website is   www.soulrstm.com
Exposed Vocals: What are some really embarrassing songs that we might find on your mp3 player?
KiDD JET: Haha. I really try to delete any embarrassing things but if look deep enough you may find something.
Exposed Vocals: If you were given half a million dollars and a year off, what would you do? How would you spend it?
KiDD JET: Put it towards bettering my opportunities with not only my music but all of the dreams and jobs i want to create myself.
Exposed Vocals: Any planned studio upgrades? What are you working with now?
KiDD JET: I’m actually working with pro tools and I always try to get new programs so I can learn all of it for myself.
Exposed Vocals: How do you find ways to promote your music? What works best for you?
KiDD JET: Facebook/Youtube Advertising.
Exposed Vocals: If you could perform anywhere and with any artists (Dead or Alive) where and who would it be with? Why?
KiDD JET: I’d perform with prince at Paisley Park because his shows are always     legendary.
Exposed Vocals: So, what’s next? Any new upcoming projects that you want to talk about?
KiDD JET: I am working on a new project but right now I’m focus on spreading my project “Habitual: Act 2” that’s out at www.kiddjet.bandcamp.com
Exposed Vocals: If you weren’t making music, what would you be doing?
KiDD JET: Directing/ Editing Films, Music Videos, and Documentaries. I also maybe acting.
Exposed Vocals: Do you remember buying your first album? Who was it? What was going through your head?
KiDD JET: The first album I bought was “souljaboytellem.com“. At a time when everything was gangsta; he actually kept it real for the young people.
Exposed Vocals: How do you juggle the rest of your responsibilities while trying to stay ahead in your music life?
KiDD JET: Time Management.
Exposed Vocals: What should fans look forward to in the next year or so?
KiDD JET: For me to be more truthful and creative in my music.
