Exposed Vocals: How did you hear about Exposed Vocals? What made you decide to sign up?

Exiled Archon: well I herd about exposed vocals through Twitter and decided to sign up due to the wanting to take our music further and see what could come of it.

 

Exposed Vocals: So tell us your story. Where did you grow up? What made you decide to become an artist?

Exiled Archon: we grew up in a few different locations but we all had the same main town to go to, we all have our different reasons for wanting to become an artist, like going into school one day and being asked to be in a band even though we didn’t actually have any musical knowledge at the time, to just one day thinking about picking up the guitar or bass and having a blast

 

Exposed Vocals: How did you come up with that name? What was your inspiration behind it?

Exiled Archon: well we had a few different names to begin with and none of them seemed to have the punch or that certain thing we were looking for and then one day Aaron (vocalist) was asked his Xbox gamertag which is the name we have now and Pritch (guitarist) said he liked the sound of it and we all agreed and it’s stuck ever since

Exposed Vocals: What do you think about online music sharing? Do you ever give your music away for free? Why?

Exiled Archon: we’re all for music sharing, I mean where would some of the bands be today if they had no way of sharing their music, I think it plays a big part with the music industry and getting bands noticed

Exposed Vocals: Since everyone was a start-up once, can you give any smaller or local bands or artists looking to get gigs and airplay some tips?

Exiled Archon: well considering we are still a local band there’s nothing we can say to the “smaller” bands because I don’t think there are any but with regards to getting gigs, the best bet is to ask around local bars, clubs and community centres, air play is another field that we have yet to experience

 

Exposed Vocals: Do you ever make mistakes during performances? How do you handle that?

Exiled Archon: all the time, any band would be lying if thy told you other wise, the way we handle it is to just laugh it of and carry on, the worst thing you can do is stop completely

 

Exposed Vocals: Do you tour? Anything interesting happen on tour that you think our readers would enjoy hearing about?

Exiled Archon: no tours planned just yet but fingers crossed, we will have one soon

 

Exposed Vocals: Where do you usually gather songwriting inspiration? What is your usual songwriting process?

Exiled Archon: usually we gather songwriting inspiration from past experience and things like that, other times the words and music just flow and we end up creating a song, the usual process to doing this is we will have a drum beat going then come up with the guitar and vocals whilst the drums are going then go section by section until we have a full song

Exposed Vocals: Do you have a band website? What online platforms do you use to share your music?

Exiled Archon: we do have a band website on soundcloud and we are looking at setting up a reverb nation sometime soon

Exposed Vocals: What are some really embarrassing songs that we might find on your mp3 player?

Exiled Archon: we all have our guilty pleasures considering we’re a metal band we listen to stuff like Example, N-Dubz, things that metal bands shouldn’t really be listening to

Exposed Vocals: If you were given half a million dollars and a year off, what would you do? How would you spend it?

Exiled Archon: as a band we would probably invest it into gear and our own independent recording studio and whatever we had left over we would use for one hell of a party

Exposed Vocals: Any planned studio upgrades? What are you working with now?

Exiled Archon: well we are planning on getting into a studio at some point but at the moment we are just using an iPad and GarageBand to do our song, which being as cheap as it is gives quite good results

Exposed Vocals: How do you find ways to promote your music? What works best for you?

Exiled Archon: we usually just share the crap out of the links and try and get as many people to listen as possible, that’s about it really

Exposed Vocals: If you could perform anywhere and with any artists (Dead or Alive) where and who would it be with? Why?

Exiled Archon: for most of us it would have to be Sylosis as they have influenced us the most, but there are a few others in the mix too, like iron maiden, just for how legendary they are

Exposed Vocals: So, what’s next? Any new upcoming projects that you want to talk about?

Exiled Archon: apart from the studio session getting booked soon there isn’t anything else just yet unfortunately

Exposed Vocals: If you weren’t making music, what would you be doing?

Exiled Archon: we would probably all be in dead end jobs, with our brain cells melting and wasting away

Exposed Vocals: Do you remember buying your first album? Who was it? What was going through your head?

Exiled Archon: my first bought album was velvet revolver contraband, due to the fact Slash had been a major influence on my guitar playing since I was 15

Exposed Vocals: How do you juggle the rest of your responsibilities while trying to stay ahead in your music life?

Exiled Archon: it helps having such a supporting family and making time for music

Exposed Vocals: What should fans look forward to in 2015?

Exiled Archon: well hopefully if all goes well we will have our e.p out or maybe even an album
