Exposed Vocals: So tell us your story. Where did you grow up? What made you decide to become an artist? Â
DubzZz: I grew up in Tuscaloosa, Alabama or as I like to call it “The Dub5”. I always dreamed of being a rapper since i was like 5 because my uncle would always be listening ro music and he would ask me to rap and thats where it all began.

Exposed Vocals: How did you come up with that name? What was your inspiration behind it?

DubzZz: I came up with that name because where Im from we call 20 dollar bills dubs and I usually keep nothing but 20 dollar bills in my pocket so my friends just started calling me that. I added the three Zs because people sleeping on me and my cities talent.
Exposed Vocals: What do you think about online music sharing? Do you ever give your music away for free? Why?
DubzZz: If you mean posting, then yea for exposure to get someone to listen to me. But, if you mean to say that its theirs like they wrote it, then no.

Exposed Vocals: Since everyone was a start-up once, can you give any smaller or local bands or artists looking to get gigs and airplay some tips?
DubzZz: Always have money. You may have talent but everyones looking for the money you are willing to put in for yourself or group.

Exposed Vocals: Do you ever make mistakes during performances? How do you handle that?

DubzZz: Nah, its my song that i want people to hear so im putting my all into my performances to get people looking.

Exposed Vocals: Do you tour? Anything interesting happen on tour that you think our readers would enjoy hearing about?Â
DubzZz: Nah, I dont tour.

Exposed Vocals: Where do you usually gather songwriting inspiration? What is your usual songwriting process? Â
     DubzZz: I usually come up with songs like when Im just not doing anything. My songwriting process is jus grabbing my phone to write the song and then find a beat to match.
Exposed Vocals: Do you have a band website? What online platforms do you use to share your music?

DubzZz: Nah, i dont have a band website. But, i ise soundcloud to share my music.
Exposed Vocals: What are some really embarrassing songs that we might find on your mp3 player?

DubzZz: I don’t consider any of the music i listen to as embarrassing, honestly.Â
Exposed Vocals: If you were given half a million dollars and a year off, what would you do? How would you spend it? Â
DubzZz: I would try and start a business so just incase I want to stop rapping I would have something to fall back on and be able to relax like a boss.
Exposed Vocals: Any planned studio upgrades? What are you working with now? Â
DubzZz: Yes, im planning on getting alot of new things for my studio. Right now im working with a usb mic, mixcraft 7, and a mic stand.
Exposed Vocals: How do you find ways to promote your music? What works best for you?

DubzZz: Usually Facebook or Instagram, but sometimes Twitter. Instagram works best for me though.
Exposed Vocals: If you could perform anywhere and with any artists (Dead or Alive) where and who would it be with? Why?Â
DubzZz: I would perform in New York, With Jay Z. Why.? Because New York is a big place and im sure New Yorkers would listen to an artist Jay Z is on stage with vibing to the music.

Exposed Vocals: So, what’s next? Any new upcoming projects that you want to talk about?

Exposed Vocals: If you weren’t making music, what would you be doing? Â
DubzZz: I honestly dont see my self not making music. But if i wasnt i would be hooping.
Exposed Vocals: Do you remember buying your first album? Who was it? What was going through your head? Â
DubzZz: Well it wasnt an album, it was a mixtape by a local artist named “Lil Shown” and the only thing that ran through my head was “If he can do it i can to, because we come from the same place”

Exposed Vocals: How do you juggle the rest of your responsibilities while trying to stay ahead in your music life? Â
DubzZz: I dont record everyday but i do write so that takes no time and then i fo it on my phone so its really easy. Just incase im work I’ll go to the bathroom and type it down to remember it.

Exposed Vocals: What should fans look forward to in 2016? Â
DubzZz: They should look forward to seeing Tuscaloosa ALOT because we are coming and we’re coming strong.
