Exposed Vocals Interviews Darryl, Joseph, and Darius

Exposed Vocals: How did you hear about Exposed Vocals? What made you decide to sign up?

Darius: Well, we saw Exposed vocals on twitter and we knew that we had very little promotion. The music we were set to put out deserved some good recognition R-n-B wise we decided to sign up there.

Exposed Vocals: So tell us your story. Where did you grow up? What made you decide to become an artist?

Darryl: We Are a group of three boys who have the goal of not only putting out good music but also to touch people musically. Our names include Darryl, Joseph, And King is what Darius calls himself. We grew up in Houston Texas and are still here. We all seen talent in Each Other and decided to make it a unit. After that we went in to Barron Studios To test our waters and it came out to be pretty good.

Exposed Vocals: How did you come up with that name? What was your inspiration behind it?

Darryl: Well, For now we haven’t been having the best of luck finding a good name with a message behind it, But stayed tuned because when we do it’ll be on our twitter( @dtoond1997 ) and sound cloud.

Exposed Vocals: What do you think about online music sharing? Do you ever give your music away for free? Why?

Darius:  We Think That online music sharing is cool You connect with way more people in our beliefs. We do happen to be giving our music away for free through sound cloud right now because we want to promote our music and sound and then start to sell it.

Exposed Vocals: Since everyone was a start-up once, can you give any smaller or local bands or artists looking to get gigs and airplay some tips?

Darryl: Well, we don’t even have that but our cousin definitely let us know that you’d have to do gigs to promote your music and connect and who knows who you might meet. Don’t be nervous about the music if it’s something your comfortable with. If you feel you want to put it out than put it out and with that confidence lots of people will like the sound.

Exposed Vocals: Do you ever make mistakes during performances? How do you handle that?

Darryl: Oh always but we handle them by just going over and see what we did wrong and not doing it again. It’s not much of major stuff that cant be fixed.

Exposed Vocals: Do you tour? Anything interesting happen on tour that you think our readers would enjoy hearing about?

Joseph: No we don’t tour yet, But once we get enough music out we do plan on do small shows around to show we’re capable. Afterwards if tour calls for us we wouldn’t back down.

Exposed Vocals: Where do you usually gather songwriting inspiration? What is your usual songwriting process?

Darryl: With me i gather a lot of inspirations from Missy,Timbaland and static major, There’s this man on Instagram on Instagram who writes music and He has so many connects so i also look up to him. Darius and Joseph Look up to anybody who good with words.

Exposed Vocals: Do you have a band website? What online platforms do you use to share your music?

Darius: We use Sound cloud  For sharing our music for now.

Exposed Vocals: What are some really embarrassing songs that we might find on your mp3 player?

Darius: Well we don’t listen to anything embarrassing. Everything we have in our phones are good music and the artists all have their own vibes that people would like to hear all around.

Exposed Vocals: If you were given half a million dollars and a year off, what would you do? How would you spend it?

Joseph: Make Music everyday and we’d also buy lots of clothes and shoes but that’s about it. We’d give our family a portion also.

Exposed Vocals: Any planned studio upgrades? What are you working with now?

Darryl: We think the studio that we’re Working with ( Barron Studios ) is pretty dope all alone. the way they have so much connection with the guest and great material i just don’t see us anywhere else

Exposed Vocals: How do you find ways to promote your music? What works best for you?

Joseph:  Connect with promoters and Instagram Our links and Post the Music there and on twitter.

Exposed Vocals: If you could perform anywhere and with any artists (Dead or Alive) where and who would it be with? Why?

Darryl: Well I’m Darryl and I would perform with the late Aaliyah she is overall great and had good vibes i feel she would be perfect to perform with me or I’d perform with Jagged Edge Cause their sound is good. Joseph would perform with Lil Wayne  because that’s his favorite artist and he loves how he handles his music and how well he is respected. Darius would perform with Fetty Wap and Kevin Gates because their music is good.

Exposed Vocals: So, what’s next? Any new upcoming projects that you want to talk about?

Darryl: Right Now we’re working on a couple of covers and after that we want to get an EP working. We don’t wanna just sit in one place in this music industry so working on different genres is key and that’s what we plan to do on this project.

Exposed Vocals: If you weren’t making music, what would you be doing?

Darius: Darryl would do acting, Joseph would do basketball and football, and I would do basketball.

Exposed Vocals: Do you remember buying your first album? Who was it? What was going through your head?

joseph: We don’t remember buying our first albums but i’m pretty sure we were amazed.

Exposed Vocals: How do you juggle the rest of your responsibilities while trying to stay ahead in your music life?

Darryl: Well, it’s pretty easy because we do everything need to do personally aside before going to deal with the music. The music is supposed to be an escape from stuff and just to do that should be done separately and whenever we’re free.

Exposed Vocals: What should fans look forward to in 2015?

joseph: Just more great Music and Much Different Genres and The EP.
