Exposed Vocals Interviews Collide – A – Scope
Exposed Vocals: So tell us your story. Where did you grow up? What made you decide to become an artist?
Collide – A -Â Scope: I grew up most my life in B.C. how ever i was born in Lloydminister A.B Canada. I lived there from birth until i was 12 when my dad moved us to B.C and lived there for nine- ten years of my life, what truly made me Decide to write music, was in 2010, i was in high school then, and I had a friend come to my place, and he had shown me dubstep for the first time, and i fell in love with that genre, and shortly after my brother came home with a laptop he allowed me to use for the first bit of writting music. after a while i purchased my first laptop ever, and began to really get into writing Electronic music.
Exposed Vocals: How did you come up with that name? What was your inspiration behind it?
Collide – A – Scope: well it funny you ask e this, I was first named Di5trict K3per for at least two years. i did not like the name much and felt it did not suit my character as a person, so i changed it to faze, and i tell you I never felt more complete with the name, although apart of my writing was missing in the name, meaning my style of music still did not quit meet the feeling of the name i choose, so i pondered for months to find a new name that bests suits my style of music writing. until one day my partner at the time, ( John), came by to do some writing and said to me, ‘What if you named your artist character, Collide – A – Scope:? and right then i was sold on it.
Exposed Vocals: What do you think about online music sharing? Do you ever give your music away for free? Why?
Collide – A – Scope: My take on sharing music is simple. as a beginner song writer, Is something that even i have troubles with. it is simply this way, sharing my music through youtube for free, is my way of contributing to the fans and saying here. this is the only way i know to distribute my music and its free. This why everyone can hear it, don’t get me wrong or confused though, i would love to make a living off my music for sure, but also being satisfied with the fact that people can listen to, (valued and made from the heart), music, with out money involved. its complexed to understand. I have my ways i guess ha-ha.
Exposed Vocals: Since everyone was a start-up once, can you give any smaller or local bands or artists looking to get gigs and airplay some tips?
Collide – A – Scope: well i never got any airplay time, for sure though  would have to say just be precise about what energy the show has, that dictates weather you’ll get the spot, also practise! i can not stress how much training for a performance is as important if not more important, that the performance its self, be your self one hundred percent of the time. also make up a really good professional press kit, that will help you out by shown the host that your prepared. always be prepared for any situation. my first gig i went and asked and talked to the manager of the venue for an hour before he said yes to playing there. another way for getting gigs is going to as many shows as possible to connect with the industry of music. be everywhere and you’ll be noticed.
Exposed Vocals: Do you ever make mistakes during performances? How do you handle that?
Collide – A – Scope: I normally don’t during preforming, i have once and all i did was just play another track after, what had happened though, is i was n the middle of a transition between two tracks and missed the window to transition the songs smoothly and well ended up off time and had to use an effect to try to “mask” my mistake. ha-ha. so yes, don’t flip out, it will be stressful in the moment, all you do is breathe and keep preforming, it looks good on you when you can screw up and keep going after wards, although PRACTISE! always train for the performance. that is more important then the performance its self.
Exposed Vocals: Do you tour? Anything interesting happen on tour that you think our readers would enjoy hearing about?

Exposed Vocals: Any planned studio upgrades? What are you working with now?
Collide – A – Scope: I do, i want this awesome studio that is made in, not a specific rain forest, but after an extensive amount of research I could for sure pick an exact one, well… ha-ha that is so in the future. although it would be made with big windows to a view possible looking out to the forest, and it would be on a mountain for sure, It would be a square home, like those small homes you see people build form Sea can’s for shipping material across the ocean, maybe not with that type of material, such as the sea can’s metal. but with two levels, main and upstairs. up stairs being the studio, and down being the living space.

I remember that i was super young and my mom was hesitant at first, but she listened to the disc and was like, “I don’t like that it swears, although you can listen to this artist. i think i know why though.
Exposed Vocals: How do you juggle the rest of your responsibilities while trying to stay ahead in your music life?
Collide – A – Scope: great question, with ease, but its a little more complexed than that, what i mean is that emotionally its tuff, and each day is a test to bring your best, consistency with each day, really all i ever have to do though in retrospect, is do that one task now. don’t worry if you do not follow.
