Exposed Vocals: How did you hear about Exposed Vocals? What made you decide to sign up?

C.Jo: Well I just wanted to publish my music and make the world listen to my production. So, I started to search for good sites like yours….

Exposed Vocals: So tell us your story. Where did you grow up? What made you decide to become an artist?

C.Jo:  I am born & brought up in Bangalore. I started to like DJing by listening to Afro jack’s Rock the house music! I started to producing music when I was 17. First it was not that success, but I kept on trying till I succeed..! And my first best music is “HERO”, I want my people to be happy so I gave a name for my album “YOU ARE THE MUSIC”. And i started playing piano Whn i was 15 and i have never been to any music or production class.. I just had a self confidence…!!

Exposed Vocals: How did you come up with that name? What was your inspiration behind it?

C.Jo:  Ha! That is kind of weird!! I wanted to keep myself a name like DJ snake. I thought about it and came up with DJ C.JO.

Exposed Vocals: What do you think about online music sharing? Do you ever give your music away for free? Why?

C.Jo:  Firstly, I just want to publish my music anyhow to know the response of the people. I don’t mind to share my music for free however my ultimate goal is to make people happy..!

Exposed Vocals: Since everyone was a start-up once, can you give any smaller or local bands or artists looking to get gigs and airplay some tips?

C.Jo:  Well my first favorite DJ is Afro jack!! Coz of him I started liking DJing as I mentioned earlier. Second is Hardwell..!! Coz he is having some great talent and he have some good taste in his production. And third is Skrillex coz no one can dubstep like him. I go crazy in his concert!!

Exposed Vocals: Do you ever make mistakes during performances? How do you handle that?

C.Jo:  Yes I make mistakes in mixing sometimes as no one in this world is perfect. I will handle it somehow by mixing a familiar tone to it. However when I do mistakes in my production, I will try to remake it till it is perfect. “If you’re not making mistakes, then you’re not doing anything. I’m positive that a doer makes mistakes.”

Exposed Vocals: Do you tour? Anything interesting happen on tour that you think our readers would enjoy hearing about?

C.Jo:   Well I have traveled to Kerala many times. Coz that is my beautiful native..!! I can see beautiful nature out there!! I was thinking to produce some good track. When I made it, I was struggling for a tittle name. One fine day when my cousin was speaking about tambourine, I thought that name will be perfect for my track! So I decided to come up with it…

Exposed Vocals: Where do you usually gather songwriting inspiration? What is your usual songwriting process?

C.Jo:  I don’t write songs but I do produce and mix music!!

Exposed Vocals: Do you have a band website? What online platforms do you use to share your music?

C.Jo:   Well I have no website but I have uploaded my tracks in soundcloud…!!

Exposed Vocals: What are some really embarrassing songs that we might find on your mp3 player?

C.Jo:   I liked this question! Well my worst music which I produced is area 5# it is weird but I have to develop that till I feel it is good.

Exposed Vocals: If you were given half a million dollars and a year off, what would you do? How would you spend it?

C.Jo:   I will spend half of the amount for the poor people in my country! People are suffering from pain and hunger. So I have decided to do something for them. Money is always secondary when it comes to Humanity. As you know Chennai flood showed to the world that money is less important. People had to come together with their hearts to stand firm against the destruction.

Exposed Vocals: Any planned studio upgrades? What are you working with now?

C.Jo:  As of now I have no studio upgrades.

Exposed Vocals: How do you find ways to promote your music? What works best for you?

C.Jo:  Now the only website I use is soundcloud!! And I will share my track link to my friends and families.

Exposed Vocals: If you could perform anywhere and with any artists (Dead or Alive) where and who would it be with? Why?

C.Jo:  Well I would like to perform a track with Afro jack because it is my dream..!! He is good in making music with the other DJ!!

Exposed Vocals: So, what’s next? Any new upcoming projects that you want to talk about?

C.Jo: Well my new upcoming music is “you mean it”

Exposed Vocals: If you weren’t making music, what would you be doing?

C.Jo:  I am doing my Animation & Multimedia Degree. So If I weren’t making music I would be working in some good Animation firm.

Exposed Vocals: Do you remember buying your first album? Who was it? What was going through your head?

C.Jo:  I always make my brother to listen my track first and wait for his review!! If it is positive then I will decide to publish it…

Exposed Vocals: How do you juggle the rest of your responsibilities while trying to stay ahead in your music life?

C.Jo: Well I should have the responsibility to study as I have to make my parents happy. Which is one of my dreams. Then the responsibility of supporting my family!! Yes I have many responsibilities to be taken care of. Music helps me to relax my mind and after which I tend to think, what has to be done for the ongoing problems.

Exposed Vocals: What should fans look forward to in 2016?

C.Jo:  Well I’m coming up with some good house music with my friend JEFF ELLJAY… And people will expect different music from me… So I have to produce different…!!!!
