Exposed Vocals: So tell us your story. Where did you grow up? What made you decide to become an artist? Â
Bill Taylor: I was born and raised in Benin City, Edo State, Nigeria. I fell in love with music when i was 15 and discovered that i actually had the talent for it so i decided to give it a go.
Exposed Vocals: How did you come up with that name? What was your inspiration behind it?
Bill Taylor: I actually picked the stage name “Lil Tyler Tell Em” when i newly started out, but later on settled with my birth name “Bill Taylor” Its just part of keeping my work real.
Exposed Vocals: What do you think about online music sharing? Do you ever give your music away for free? Why?
Bill Taylor: Its a really good way for new artists to get heard and provide lots of opportunities. I give some of my music free and others are sold. This is to enable me get some form of engagement and if the fans like it they’ll proceed to buy the others.
Exposed Vocals: Since everyone was a start-up once, can you give any smaller or local bands or artists looking to get gigs and airplay some tips?
Bill Taylor: Just do your best in the studio and make sure your sound is produced with a good quality, work on your stage performance and you’re good to go.
Exposed Vocals: Do you ever make mistakes during performances? How do you handle that?
 Bill Taylor: I’ve never made a mistake during a performance because i give my all in preparation and during the main act, but if there was one the best thing to do is forget about it and try correct the error during the rest of the gig.
Exposed Vocals: Do you tour? Anything interesting happen on tour that you think our readers would enjoy hearing about?Â
Bill Taylor: I’ve not gone on a tour but there are plans on ground.
Exposed Vocals: Where do you usually gather songwriting inspiration? What is your usual songwriting process? Â
Bill Taylor: In the studio or my room when i listen to the instrumental.
In writing a song I make sure i’m listening to the instrumental which i want to sing on and then i let ideas pour in as i write down lyrics on a sheet.
Exposed Vocals: Do you have a band website? What online platforms do you use to share your music?
 Bill Taylor: Yes i do have a website. I share my work using Facebook, Twitter, Youtube and Instagram.
Exposed Vocals: What are some really embarrassing songs that we might find on your mp3 player?
 Bill Taylor: I dont have an embarrassing song on my playlist, I make sure they’re all good.
Exposed Vocals: If you were given half a million dollars and a year off, what would you do? How would you spend it? Â
Bill Taylor: Would try and spend it as wisely as possible.
Exposed Vocals: Any planned studio upgrades? What are you working with now? Â
Bill Taylor: I let my producer handle that.
Exposed Vocals: How do you find ways to promote your music? What works best for you?
Bill Taylor: For now i think getting it on top blogs and radio stations, and surely advertising on social media.
Exposed Vocals: If you could perform anywhere and with any artists (Dead or Alive) where and who would it be with? Why?Â
Bill Taylor: I would like to perform with Wizkid because he is my mentor and I look up to him, and it’ll definitely be in Warri, Delta State, Nigeria cause that’s my hometown.
Exposed Vocals: So, what’s next? Any new upcoming projects that you want to talk about?
Bill Taylor: I’m working on two new singles which by the grace of god is going to give me my big breakthrough, just watchout for it.
Exposed Vocals: If you weren’t making music, what would you be doing? Â
Bill Taylor: I’d probably be doing one business or the other because I’m business minded.
Exposed Vocals: Do you remember buying your first album? Who was it? What was going through your head?
Bill Taylor: Can’t remember that right now, been a really long time.
Exposed Vocals: How do you juggle the rest of your responsibilities while trying to stay ahead in your music life? Â
Bill Taylor: I just try to give the best at anything I do weather big or small.
Exposed Vocals: What should fans look forward to in 2016? Â
Bill Taylor: Fans should look forward to a bigger me before the year runs out.
