Exposed Vocals Interviews B-E-Z
Exposed Vocals: So tell us your story. Where did you grow up? What made you decide to
become an artist?
B-E-Z: I grew up between two places, one the city of Bristol and the other was the countryside of Gloucestershire. I moved back to Bristol permanently at the age of 10, my dad was a DJ and always had the latest sounds, Funk, Jazz, Blues, Soul and new at the time Hip-Hop and RnB, with this access to music i was able to become very diverse both as a listener and a writer, at 15 i met a Bristol MC called Krazy who recorded my first track and showed me recording techniques, how to use my voice ect. Krazy was and still is very influential in my career as he always pushed me to believe in myself. At 16 I started doing shows in college and had the opportunity to work in a professional recording studio. At 17 I started a music youth project where I met another Bristol Artist called Trigga Don. Trigga really introduced me to the game, showed me how to tap into that writing style that could appeal to everyone and how to market myself as an artist. I then went through some bogus label stuff and ended up right back at the beginning with Krazy and Crudely Cut records and Trigga and the whole Wise guy mentality. Since then I have been fortunate enough to be signed by an independent American record label by the name of Asylum Records and will be releasing my album “The Renegade Movement” in March 2015.
Exposed Vocals: What do you think about online music sharing? Do you ever give your music away for free? Why?
B-E-Z: I think that on-line sharing is great as it gives the artist and fan a better way of connecting. My last Mixtape “More Than A Dream” was and still is free, available on datpiff.com as well as my Bandcamp page and my Soundcloud i believe that life is about giving as well as receiving.
Exposed Vocals: Since everyone was a start-up once, can you give any smaller or local bands or artists looking to get gigs and airplay some tips?
B-E-Z: always concentrate on the music first and foremost, make sure it’s the highest quality, then start by getting your friends to support you and build your fan base, once you have a decent number of people that will come and see you every time you perform, promoters will chase you.
Exposed Vocals: Where do you usually gather songwriting inspiration? What is your usual songwriting process?
B-E-Z: I gather inspiration from life, my life is complicated and with this comes many unforeseen events that offer inspiration I don’t have any one process but I don’t need a pen or paper as the creative process is purely internal. The fire starts within.
Exposed Vocals: If you could perform anywhere and with any artists Dead or Alive where and who would it be with? Why?
B-E-Z: If i could perform anywhere it would be Glastonbury or Madison square garden and I would love to perform with Redman
and Method man just for the energy alone. Biggie just so I could say I held the stage with one of the greatest.
Exposed Vocals: Any planned studio upgrades? What are you working with now?
B-E-Z: I plan to have my own studio in the next few months which will really up my game in terms of collaborations. I am currently working on my second album as well as an EP which will be real special.
Exposed Vocals: How do you find ways to promote your music? What works best for you
B-E-Z: I promote my music through social media, blog sites, review sites, radio play, music videos and at live performances and by being out and about and interacting with people

B-E-Z: – really couldn’t say but hopefully something constructive but probably not.
Exposed Vocals: What should fans look forward to for the rest of 2015 and beyond?
B-E-Z: fans should look forward to my album and my special EP along with live performances, interviews and documentaries, moving past that, films and clothing and anything else that can be perceived and achieved. My second album will shortly follow the EP. I would like to take this time to say that I am about the people and I will be involved with as many charitable activities as possible in 2015.
