Exposed Vocals catches an Exclusive Interview with Raven Reii
“Performing came naturally just like singing, songwriting and producing.”
Raven Reii was born to a family of artists in the suburbs of Stockholm’s Sweden’s South-side. A musical father who spent evenings in the basement with his guitar and drums, a mother who is an interior designer and a brother that preferred the rap game.
Raven Reii, however is not your stereotypical girl next door. She comes with an array of skills beyond the average. She’s a singer with a story to tell, she is an amazing pencil artist, plays instruments and shaves off her hair occasionally just for the heck of it.
“At the age of 6 Raven Reii already understood songs and music both in Swedish and English and she knew she wanted to be an international artist…!”
This 5’6 sexy blonde is a fantastic dancer and trend setter, and sets the standard for that edgy look.
Raven Reii’s life story could be a best seller book, and yet beyond the surface of her enigmatic body of tattoos, lies a kind hearted humble girl that enjoys life and wishes to do what makes her happy.
Raven Reii has just released her debut single and video, entitled Shades with Dopaminergic/Com On N Records and you can follow her @

Exposed Vocals: So tell us your story. Where did you grow up? What made you decide to become an artist?
Raven Reii: I grew up in south of Stockholm, Sweden. I come from a creative family and music has always been a big part of my life. Music was the only thing I was good at and I felt like I wanted to share it with others cause music is such an amazing thing!
Exposed Vocals: How did you come up with that name? What was your inspiration behind it?
Raven Reii: Raven was an old nickname I had so I stuck with it and I put Reii in there cause people called me Ray so I spelled it a bit different and that’s how it became Raven Reii.
Exposed Vocals: What do you think about online music sharing? Do you ever give your music away for free? Why?
Raven Reii: I think it’s a great way to get your music out there and I do give away music for free. I have a mixtape out on youtube and my website for free cause I just love making and sharing my music.
Exposed Vocals: Since everyone was a start-up once, can you give any smaller or local bands or artists looking to get gigs and airplay some tips?
Raven Reii: Never give up. I never did and I finally managed to get to a good place with my music. And one thing you need also is a good team cause it’s hard to do everything yourself. So make sure you have good people you trust around you.
Exposed Vocals: Do you ever make mistakes during performances? How do you handle that?
Raven Reii: I always make at least one mistake when I perform but it doesn’t replay matter as long as you keep going and don’t forget everything else. I just continue and give it my all!
Exposed Vocals: Do you tour? Anything interesting happen on tour that you think our readers would enjoy hearing about?
Raven Reii: I’m gonna be touring a lot in 2016 and something that I like to do is cook so I always learn ow to cook new things when I go to different places. I just learned ow to make Ackee and Saltfish in London.
Exposed Vocals: Where do you usually gather songwriting inspiration? What is your usual songwriting process?
Raven Reii: It can be anything at any time. Sometimes it just comes to me when I go for a walk or when I’m having a conversation with somebody or sometimes even when I’m just about to go to sleep and then I have to get up and make sure I don’t forget it or else I can’t sleep at all.
Exposed Vocals: Do you have a band website? What online platforms do you use to share your music?
Raven Reii: Yes I do. It’s www.ravenreii.com You can find a bunch of things on there. Some funny clips, my music, my blog and lots more.
Exposed Vocals: What are some really embarrassing songs that we might find on your mp3 player?
Raven Reii: Maybe a kiddies version by Pocoyo of Gangnam Style and some other funny kiddies music. My daughter loves it so I have to like it as well!
Exposed Vocals: If you were given half a million dollars and a year off, what would you do? How would you spend it?
Raven Reii: I would spend it with my family and spend it on my family cause they are the most important people in my life and they deserve the best.

Raven Reii: That would have to be at Wembley Stadium with James Brown cause I think that would be an amazing experience and I think I would have soon much fun doing it.
Exposed Vocals: So, what’s next? Any new upcoming projects that you want to talk about?
Raven Reii: I’m going over to the states to do some shows and other things and I’m also gonna start up a fashion blog and work with designers and brands from Paris amongst other places and I’m gonna finish my album.

Raven Reii: I don’t remember actually but I know my dad had lots of albums like Kiss and Kim Larsen and other ones that I was listening to and I was singing all the time and I remember that I was thinking I would love to make my own album one day.
Exposed Vocals: How do you juggle the rest of your responsibilities while trying to stay ahead in your music life?
Raven Reii: I am a mother of a soon to be 2 year old girl so everything I do I’m doing for her. So she takes up a lot of my time but I’m loving every second of it.
