DJ Poiz’s ‘Nature Syndrome Pt. 3’ “turn the music up loud, and it surrounds you entirely”
The title of this piece alone is the sort that draws in a listener purely for the intrigue and the connection to the natural world. Once you press play, the music unfolds in a subtle yet euphoric manner, soaking you in atmosphere and imagery, yet all the while keeping those individual instrumental elements to a notable minimum. The space is filled entirely by the ambiance, yet there’s no overwhelming volume or riff that stands out too powerfully from the soundscape. You can relax entirely to the music, or you can let it play and get on with whatever you were doing – you can focus on your own task, or you can focus on the musical experience.
The soundscape is subtle yet effective in directing your thoughts through this imagery and story line, the sort that of course will be unique to you and to each and every listener who gets involved; as is the gift of instrumental music. The title gives a hint as to the intended direction though, and the music gives off this feeling of being out in the peace of the wilderness really well, if you let it.
At less than three minutes long the journey is something of a short one. The production has been executed with a certain tenderness though, and this really makes the experience quite wonderful. As stated, you can turn the music up loud, and it surrounds you entirely, but not with overwhelming weight or anything that jars or seems out of place. It becomes a comforting bubble of audio that frees you of your concerns for a while. And even though the sound is electronically sourced, there’s a distinctly organic feel to many of the moments, again reinforcing that connection to nature and further enhancing the escapism.
