‘Colors’ by Kris Moauro
Kris Moauro is a many of many talents being a motivator, speaker and life coach, as well as a singer/songwriter. His musical gifts became apparent early on and he has been playing guitar for years. His positive, spiritual approach to life is infused in his songwriting and he is currently no.1 artist in his area in Canada on ReverbNation.
Kris’ music is uplifting, commercial rock/pop with modern electronic elements that help to keep the sound current and cutting edge. You Don’t Even know is a great, upbeat acoustic pop/indie song with a playful and humorous lyric about trying to win a girl’s affection but being misunderstood: “You probably think this sounds like Taylor Swift, I mighta tried but I think I swung and missed”.
Honesty and Colors are both very well-crafted mid paced pop songs while I enjoyed the bluesy guitar and 70’s strings on Get Outta Your Head, as well as the uplifting lyrics. The wah-wah solo is superb and doesn’t outstay its welcome. Look At You Now is another slightly rockier track with a nice crunchy guitar sound.
Overall, Kris Moauro has a real knack for writing catchy and enjoyable, as well as commercial, pop songs that seem almost tailor made for radio. His voice is strong and easy on the ear, and his music fits in with what’s current in the charts. I think the consistent quality of his songs will mean he gradually builds a big fanbase, though he may yet write the big smash hit that kicks down the doors of the industry for him.
