Chris Parker – Outta Love [Music Review]
Chris Parker explores the fall from love in the tender of “Outta Love”. Done with the utmost of care, the slow heavy rhythms further emphasize the heartache one experiences when a relationship falls apart. His lyricism gets to the very core of what happens when individuals grow apart. The style feels fresh, nicely bringing together hip-hop, R&B into an overall pop ballad. Full of hurt, the way that the message focuses upon the loss of someone becomes completely overwhelming in terms of how real it feels. Layers of sound intermingle to create a stark kind of beauty, one that comes straight from the heart.
A story emerges over the course of the track. The many stages of a breakup occur allowing for the song to process each one. Realization of the impending breakup occurs first, with those hints working together in unison to create something that gathers in strength until that breakup happens. With the event, things begin to shift even more. Eventually everything blows up into something that effects even future relationships for a while. For if that old relationship continues to linger in the mind, then what hope is there in finding someone special, while the heart continues to ache and self-doubt lingers.
Done with the utmost of care, Chris Parker’s “Outta Love” offers a fresh take on what the loss of a relationship can do to a person, how it makes them question themselves and try to find an inner peace.
