Music Review for C.G – C.E.O of Hilltop Records, new track ‘On My Way’ ft LON MYNX
On my way by C.G, CEO of Hilltop Records – ft. LON MYNX, is a romantic song. Presumably, a story of love and responsibility. Dedicated to the act of ‘Companionship’. The story-line is about the relationship that the artist has with his beloved. A satisfying one. The artist admits how much their relationship means to him and what he is willing to do and what he is doing to keep it together. To please her is the objective…. In other words, his efforts in keeping the relationship exciting and full of life. What a wonderful way to show your woman that you care. Moreover, about what she thinks, too.

Oh, did I mention that the rewards are sexually gratifying?! I mean, this woman must be extremely special because of how the artist gives this graphic discription of what he’s gonna do to her when he gets there and how much they’re both gonna love it!

The intro has an RnB sound to it. With a keyboard and bells and symbols giving it a dreamlike state. The listener can’t help but to be riveted by the amount of complexity the musical score undertakes. This intro is sustained for 25 seconds before the lyrics drop, giving the track that RnB groove that you would hear in any spectacular project that would most likely be playing for years to come; and when you hear it, you’ll say; ” Hey That’s My Jam!!!” at the top of your voice.
This 2015 hip-hop groove that reminded me of a 90’s era song. Somewhat like the hip-hop tracks that ‘Bone Thugs and Harmony’ have released in the past. However, the ‘spin’ that ‘On My Way’ takes, apparently is a seldom tapped area that is personalized and a direct implementation towards one women.
C.G has the vocal skills of a seasoned professional that can genuinely sing! A natural tenor and a hellavah lyricist. The bars he carries out are magnificently orchestrated. Definitely utilizing this skill set on this track. The melody is in perfect tune with what I think people want to hear from an artist of t his caliber. I am certain that there will be requests for this tune to be played across national FM stations once e get started with our radio campaign for C.G.
The track is approximately three minutes and twenty-six seconds and during the entire track there is nothing repetitive about it. The chorus is smooth and classy and I couldn’t help but smile while listening to ‘On My Way’ cause it brought back familiar memories.
I truly enjoyed listening to this artist and how he shares his story of that kind of love in relationships. Of having to worry about your man ’cause he’s out late and you’re home alone in your king sized bed…. Complaining “…what do I have this bed here for if I’m alone in it?” …his response is ‘timeless’… An effort to explain his reasons and how he’s gonna make it up to her. I Loved It and you will too.
