“beautiful, a very vintage sort of presentation and style” Stella Esmeralda C. with “No More Tears”
It’s really pleasant to listen to a song performed in this manner at this time in our lives. The energy of the world and the fast paced nature of the music industry often crashes by before you even get a chance to appreciate the performances and the artistry that make it what it is. The performance in this case is beautiful, a very vintage sort of presentation and style, but with a warmth that works well even now. The piano sounds great, the jazz effect comes into play and sets everything up as you’d hope, and later on, the music appropriately evolves into something much bigger, and much more upbeat.
The harmonies on this recording are a big part of what makes it as striking as it is. The classic dance record that moves into centre stage later on really makes you just smile and feel good. The rhythm has that same warmth to it as the vocal performance; it’s a comforting feeling of things gone by, times that have passed, and it’s good to know there are artists out there who are still making the music they want to make and that is true to their hearts and their character.
One thing that is clear from the performance is the enthusiasm and the passion for music and performance. There’s a fair bit of creativity in the vocal moments and choices throughout the record that add a stamp of freshness to the cover, and this is the sort of thing that shows the true colours of the artist alongside the song choice. This kind of music needs that creativity as much as it needs the enthusiasm and the energy. All in all, the feelings you hope to get from listening to music of this sort are well achieved.
