Something like classic nineties rock and punk streams out at you with this song, and it’s a great sound, it sets a really nostalgic and melodic vibe that’s easy to get into. In terms of song writing, the whole piece is well structured, the verses lead well into that pre-hook section, and again from there everything builds well melodically and musically up towards the key line. The music is effective in drawing your attention to this moment, so you’ll remember the point and meaning of the song once you’ve listened, and that’s a clever way to craft a track.
The sound is distinctively a fusion of the emotional and the somewhat more hard core sound of punk rock, so this in itself is something pretty special to run with. The music is easy to get into, you can turn it on, turn it up, and listen in depth if you wish to as there’s plenty going on in those lyrics – there’s a genuine streak of real feelings and thoughts, which is something that will grab audiences and make the music easy to relate to and understand and appreciate. It’s always a great thing to write in this way, never just writing for the sake of writing, or because you came up with a melody that you liked.
The whole production side of this track is all that it needs to be – the performances are pretty flawless from all involved, so you can safely assume the band would sound the same live as they do on the recording, and that’s always something to be appreciated. This is definitely the kind of sound that would be hugely effective at a live show, bringing like-minded people together and offering volume alongside great melody lines so that there’s nothing left to be desired.
