Nox is an American rapper who creates music based off of his life. Nox has been concentrating on punchlines, metaphors, and structure of mainstream rap for some years and has been able to create a unique and dynamic sound that stands out from the typical underground music of hand written cds and closet microphone booths! Nox is a perfectionist  and only works with industry standard producers, djs, artists, graphic artists, directors, and equipment!  Nox has lived in 23 states. His parents divorced at the age of 9, and he left home at the age of 14. This has lead to a completely one of a kind accent and a very powerful and enunciated delivery. Nox dropped out in the 8th grade, and scored in the top 1 percentile on a GED pre-test. He turned down an offer for a scholarship at Virginia Tech in order to pursue a career in the music industry. Nox has sold over 10,000 cds hand to hand, and his music has been in rotation in clubs in several cities, as well as on college radio, and on BDS registered radio-stations. Nox has been on over 30 internationally syndicated mixtapes, and has performed all over the country. Nox has opened for Durrough Music, Lil Boosie, Trinidad James, Kirko Bangs, and Webbie, and has been featured on Paul Wall’s CD “I’m Throwed”. Nox was on a song co-written by Jamie Foxx and Miraj The RNB Beast called “Don’t Hate Me (Official Remix)”. Nox is currently in the process of promoting and marketing his debut album “My Life” which was released May 20th, 2016.

Exposed Vocals: So tell us your story. Where did you grow up? What made you decide to become an artist?
NoxBond: I was born in Oklahoma. I’ve lived in 23 states, and I consider myself to be from Wichita, KS. I also represent Raleigh, NC and I have strong ties in Orlando, FL, Chicago, IL, Atlanta, GA, and a few other markets.

Exposed Vocals: How did you come up with that name? What was your inspiration behind it?

NoxBond: Nox was originally short for Noxious. Noxious basically means physically harmful to all living beings. It was a metaphor saying I kill everything , or I’m successful at anything I do. My agent helped me come up with NoxBond because it represents what I am about, and it brings to mind a well spoken, intelligent, creative image.

Exposed Vocals: What do you think about online music sharing? Do you ever give your music away for free? Why?

NoxBond: I feel like online music sharing has made it really easy to access any music, but in doing so it has also created an over saturated industry that is very difficult to get through. I just released a mixtape on July 14th, and it’s basically a preview of my album. I feel like money shouldn’t prevent someone from hearing my music, but at the same time if they are a fan and they want to support then by all means, by my cd and help me reach my goals.

Exposed Vocals: Since everyone was a start-up once, can you give any smaller or local bands or Artists looking to get gigs and airplay some tips?

NoxBond: First and foremost, find an avenue outside of music to make money, and figure out a way in life to be successful. Money opens doors in the music industry. Don’t spam your music, hire people who do that for a living.

Exposed Vocals: Where do you usually gather songwriting inspiration? What is your usual songwriting process?

NoxBond: Usually I just sit down with a pen and pad and put a beat on. I let the beat speak to me, and I write whatever I feel. If I need inspiration I just look around me, that’s why it’s Real Life Music.

Exposed Vocals: Do you have a band website? What online platforms do you use to share your music?

NoxBond: Not yet, but you can find me all over social media. I’m @NoxBond on Instagram, Twitter, Snapchat, and Soundcloud. @SelfMadeItsNox on Youtube and facebook.com/316Up or @Nox on facebook.

Exposed Vocals: If you were given half a million dollars and a year off, what would you do? How would you spend it?

NoxBond: I would take the half a million dollars and spend the year developing a business plan to invest it into the promotion and marketing of my next release.

Exposed Vocals: How do you find ways to promote your music? What works best for you?

NoxBond: I try to get on as many blogs as possible, and I try to get promotion teams behind me.

Exposed Vocals: So, what’s next? Any new upcoming projects that you want to talk about?

NoxBond: Right now we are pushing this My Life album and this My Life (The Preview) hosted by @DJBando1k and @DJShooter1k , it’s featured on Spinrilla, Datpiff, Topmixtapes, CertifiedMixtapes, and AudioMack, so be sure to grab the mixtape! If you like the mixtape, then download the album on itunes or stream it on spotify. We are going to be doing a lot to promote the album, but I’m always in the studio, working on my next mixtape, and my next album, and I’m working on my brother Hype’s project as well as some pretty big features.

Exposed Vocals: If you weren’t making music, what would you be doing?

NoxBond: I don’t even want to think about that. Music is my release, pressure bust pipes. If I had no release it probably wouldn’t have went well for anybody involved.

Exposed Vocals: How do you juggle the rest of your responsibilities while trying to stay ahead in your music life?

NoxBond: I prioritize. I make a lot of sacrifices to be able to take care of my music.

Exposed Vocals: What should fans look forward to in 2016?

NoxBond: Welcome to My Life! God willing, you should see me all over the place!
