Exposed Vocals interviews Trending Topic! Talks about importance of social media and networking
How did you hear about Exposed Vocals? What made you decide to sign up?
We’ve heard a lot of other artist who have greatly benefited from the program and it seemed like a great fit for the direction we’re trying to go.
So tell us your story. Where did you grow up? What made you decide to become an artist?
DEZ:
Trending Topic is a group comprised of four YouTube artist from Atlanta, Virginia and Texas. It was formed by our manager in December of 2013. We all have a passion for performing, singing, and dancing so it was a easy transition.
How did you come up with that name? What was your inspiration behind it?
JAH:
Trending Topic is not just a group. . It’s a movement. We chose that name because we encourage everyone to be themselves. . Be original. Break the mold. Start new trends. When you are confident in yourself and commit yourself to making your dreams come true. Then the world will take notice and you will be a Trending Topic.
What do you think about online music sharing?
AJ
It’s a great platform to share your craft with the world. It allows us to reach so many other fan bases in other countries where we can share our fun positive music that everyone regardless of race age or gender can enjoy. We’re all about having fun in a positive light.
Since everyone was a start-up once, can you give any smaller or local bands or artists looking to get gigs and airplay some tips?
ERIQUE:
As cliche as it sounds. . Never ever give up. If God has placed a dream on your heart then he’ll see to it that it comes true. You just have to continue to work your hardest every day and work on your craft to be the best artist you can be.
Do you ever make mistakes during performances? How do you handle that?
JAH
Yeah, lol we make mistakes.. we’re only human but the trick is to turn your mistake into an advantage and play with it. If you have fun with your mistake it brings purpose to it and let’s you connect with your audience on a very personal and human level.
Do you tour? Anything interesting happen on tour that you think our readers would enjoy hearing about?
DEZ:
We recently finished our Boys and Girls Club tour in the mid-east we performed for several young boys and girls. There was this young lady that truly loved our music and sent us a post on twitter to let us know that we made a positive difference in her life and that she was going to go after her dreams with everything she had. We really enjoyed being able to connect with our fans and supporters and hear their stories.
Do you have a band website? Do you have a Facebook or Twitter? Do you use Bandcamp, Spotify, ExposedVocals or SoundCloud to share your music?
AJ:
You can find us on Facebook Instagram YouTube and Twitter @wertrending and of course we are on the #1 music platform Exposed Vocals as Trending Topic.
If you were given half a million dollars and a year off, what would you do? How would you spend it?
AJ:
We’re all workaholics. So even though we’d be given time off.. we’d be looking for new music and performing and some of our local charities. We are all big givers for the money would help us give back to others in need.
How do you find ways to promote your music? What works best for you?
ERIQUE:
An online presence really is the best way to do it. We can reach so many people through social media and networking. It’s also currently the most economic but nothing beats live shows and meeting out supports. That is what makes it all worth it.
If you could perform anywhere and with any artists (Dead or Alive) where and who would it be with? Why?
JAH:
I would have to say Madison square garden with Michael Jackson. He is the King of Pop but more importantly he had a special connection with his fans around the world that spoke to world peace. He brought nations together for the better good. That is something we inspire to do.
So, what’s next? Any new upcoming projects that you want to talk about?
DEZ:
we’re silently preparing for the Next phase of the Trending Topic Takeover. I can’t tell you to many details but look out for new songs. . New videos. . And us to possibly be coming to your city or a city near you very soon.
If you weren’t making music, what would you be doing?
JAH:
Thinking about making music LOL.
How do you juggle the rest of your responsibilities while trying to stay ahead in your music life?
AJ:
It can be challenging but its all about time allocation. Putting things into categories and prioritizing.
What should fans look forward too for the rest of 2015 and beyond?
DEZ:
SIMPLY PUT.. WE’RE ABOUT TO TAKE OVER THE WORLD.
