Grand Champ by Chaos n Mayhem

Chaos n Mayhem a New hip hop Duo coming from the UK with their lyrical mastery and displays tendencies that lean over to the Indie music genre. However, the music in all perspectives is classified as underground rap music. With the desire to get on the grind and to be consistent in their productions, and also to come up with more great music that the masses would enjoy, the duo Chaos n Mayhem have been working hard this year to bring out some good rap music. Being ‘fans of the art’ and entertaining fans are their main focus and objective.

They are well on their way to doing just that and producing a lot more music in the upcoming year. As with most rap music the artists use the stage to showcase their lyrical genius and particular skill within their stories and always seek an opportunity to give their ‘rapping’ names and to give ‘shout outs’ to certain people that are meaningful to them or who have helped them in some manner along the way in their journey to stardom. Rapping is one of the most famous ways that a rapper can introduce themselves and to showcase their lyrical skills at the same time. even perhaps ‘call out’ some other rapper that has similar skills, out to the ‘battlefront’. A self introduction done in an extremely genius and imaginative way. ‘Grand Champ’ contains loads of keyboard synthesizers accents, heavy bass and percussions throughout help to keep the rhythm steady and allows for easy listening.

If its ‘excellence that your looking for, you should follow them, this is the evidence’… the chorus on the featured track are chanted. Twice either by Chaos or Mayhem or both in turn, whatever the case both artists undertake the mission at hand and are serious about each verse they ‘spit’. Taking turns and alternating an ‘original freestyle’. If you are in the mood for some Lyrical Chaos and Mayhem you have selected the perfect artists to listen to. Overall, the lyrics are superb. the timing is perfect in terms when the artists take turns coming in on their perspective turns. Moreover, the music can use a little speed increase as it is a somewhat slow.

Nevertheless, the tune makes for some great listening and dancing to. Also, being that they are from the UK is even more intriguing. If this is what chaos and mayhem look and sound like… I want more of it! You can definetly expect more music form Chaos and Mayhem. As they desire to entertain their fans! I am intrigued by Chaos and Mayhem and anticipate to hear more from these artists!

Exclusive Interview

How did you hear about Exposed Vocals? What made you decide to sign up?
We discovered ExposedVocals via Twitter when a fellow artist shared a link. When We viewed the site We
agreed that it would be the perfect platform for us to showcase our music.
So tell us your story. Where did you grow up? What made you decide to become an artist?
We both grow up in Leeds in the 90s, on the same street and went to the same schools.
We shared a mutual love for all things Hip-Hop. As we grew older we found that we could express
a range of emotion in rhyme and word play.
How did you come up with that name? What was your inspiration behind it?
We searched for two synonyms that described a created state, then flipped a coin to designate.
What do you think about online music sharing? Do you ever give your music away for free? Why?
for up coming artist such as ourselves it’s has been a massive help in getting heard and really spreading the audience.
We do give our music away for free because we feel that what we do is a labor of love.
Since everyone was a start-up once, can you give any smaller or local bands or artists looking to get gigs and airplay some tips?
Basically put the work in and enjoy what you are doing. Use social media (Exposed Vocals) to get a loyal fan base and go from there.
Do you ever make mistakes during performances? How do you handle that?
Unfortunately, We haven’t had the opportunity to perform, yet, though we are sure that we would handle it professionally.
Do you tour? Anything interesting happen on tour that you think our readers would enjoy hearing about?
we haven’t toured, so nothing to report, unfortunately.
Where do you usually gather songwriting inspiration? What is your usual songwriting process?
Chaos – I gather inspiration from various types of music and various emotions and experiences.
I sometimes start with a few lyrical ideas, then find a beat to suite. Other times I’ll start with
beat and then write.
Mayhem – I draw inspiration from a range of artists from Lil Wayne through to Kendrick Lamar and Slaughterhouse
I find that sometimes beats give a lot of lyrics when they are interpreted in such a way. My writing style is certainly different
as a few tracks/verses of mine have actually been written backwards so my start line is the last.
Do you have a band website? Do you have a Facebook or Twitter? Do you use Bandcamp, Spotify, ExposedVocals or SoundCloud to share your music?
At the moment we use Twitter to interact and share links for YouTube,SoundCloud and ExposedVocals
What are some really embarrassing songs that we might find on your mp3 player?
We both feel that a particular taste in music shouldn’t be seen as embarrassing – you like what you like.
 
If you were given half a million dollars and a year off, what would you do? How would you spend it?
First thing to buy would be a permanent studio, where we can go whenever we feel the need, so the year off would
in turn be used as studio time just playing around with new ideas and doing what we do now – just enjoying the work.
Any planned studio upgrades? What are you working with now?
We are always striving for the best quality possible. At the moment we have a home studio with a USB mic and switch board.
One day we hope to have a fully kitted studio.
How do you find ways to promote your music? What works best for you?
Our promotions are limited between ExposedVocals and Twitter, but We hope to expand our social foot print.
 
If you could perform anywhere and with any artists (Dead or Alive) where and who would it be with? Why?
Chaos – Madison Square Garden with Eminem, would be a dream come true and a great learning experience.
There are so many artists I’d like to perform with, but too many to name.
Mayhem – Recording Studio – SlaughterHouse with DJ Premier, i would like the experience from the artists
and the talent from the DJ and to spend a day with them and a mic would be amazing.
 
So, what’s next? Any new upcoming projects that you want to talk about?
We are unsure after this album is done, but we know that there is a lot more to come
If you weren’t making music, what would you be doing?
We really have no idea what we would do, it’s become part of our lives.
Do you remember buying your first album? Who was it? What was going through your head?
Both – Eminem – The Marshall Mathers LP. bought it based on hearing Stan – loved the song.
How do you juggle the rest of your responsibilities while trying to stay ahead in your music life?
We arrange time though out the week for writing and have a planned and set schedule on a Sunday evening for all recording
and any other matters that require attention.
What should fans look forward too for the rest of 2014 and beyond?
The completion of self titled album coming first quarter of 2015. As for more projects, we will keep you all
