Exposed Vocals: How did you hear about Exposed Vocals? What made you decide to sign up?
LYCAN: Truthfully, I never heard about Exposed Vocals until they contacted me. I decided to sign up when I had seen opportunity as an outsource.
Exposed Vocals: So tell us your story. Where did you grow up? What made you decide to become an artist?
LYCAN: I grew up in Madera, known as the heart of California, it’s one of those small town places where you can get too comfortable or leave as soon as possible.,but somehow always managing to come back.
I wanted to do something that gave me the importance of how I felt when deployed to Afghanistan in 2012 – 2013, an music I always seen artist could change the way we felt an being that I was already writing songs since I was boy to understand how I felt, becoming what I was born to do seemed easy
Exposed Vocals: How did you come up with that name? What was your inspiration behind it?
LYCAN: I have always been one to blend an fit in anywhere I was because of the fact I had divorced parents, one side Hispanic other side coacation, also fascinated with native Americans culture belief of shapeshifting an how skin walkers could disguise themselves to a wolf or any other shape of form they desire so to me this meant diversity which was my life. Lycan was perfect
Exposed Vocals: What do you think about online music sharing? Do you ever give your music away for free? Why?
LYCAN: At the end of the day, I share positive music of local talent an would hope to get the same in return but not a requirement because this not only better their chances on getting heard by the right person but also helps the music scene for the future of these kids to see they don’t have to sell drugs or join gangs to be somebody. I don’t believe any one should ever be denied music, so yes I do stream music for everybody to hear
Exposed Vocals: Since everyone was a start-up once, can you give any smaller or local bands or artists looking to get gigs and airplay some tips?
LYCAN: Always remember that you get what you put in because at the end of the day always keep in mind this is not a hobby or side job so to get taken serious as a artist you must treat it as a way of life.
