Valentine’s Day Video* The Giggle Gems “Lucky Squirrels”
In their debut single, “Lucky Squirrels,” The Giggle Gems admit, “If you think we’re nuts, you’d be right.” One thing’s for sure: they’re nuts about each other.
College sweethearts Keith and Laura Harrison have been making music together as studio producer and session singer for nearly a decade, creating work for major networks and brands such as Disney, FOX, NBC, Porsche, The Emmy Awards, Sony Television and more. They’ve collaborated with major artists including Ariana Grande, Jessie J, Jennifer Hudson, The Killers, Emmylou Harris, Babyface and many others. Until this year, however, they were known in the industry simply as the Harrisons.
Then, in January 2016, they were invited to perform at a famed comedy club in Los Angeles as the evening’s musical act, and needed to come up with a name. The show got cancelled at the last minute, but the name stuck, and The Giggle Gems were born. Inspired by legends like Simon & Garfunkel, Sonny & Cher, and The Carpenters, as well as contemporary artists like Gotye, Jon Brion, and Foster The People, they aim to marry their love of metaphoric storytelling with a blend of acoustic and electronic instrumentation, at once lush and unadulterated.
