Exposed Vocals: How did you hear about Exposed Vocals? What made you decide to sign up?
VWoo & Louie2Based – We got a follow from your twitter page and after talking back and forth with you guys, we thought it would be some pretty good exposure
Exposed Vocals: So tell us your story. Where did you grow up? What made you decide to become an artist?
VWoo & Louie2Based- We both grow up in the Tulsa area, we met when we were youngings playing basketball together in like 6th grade, and we both loved hooping, but music was our passion even then.
Exposed Vocals: How did you come up with that name? What was your inspiration behind it?
VWoo – My close friend Ksean who’s also in P.G.E (Polo Gang Entertainment) gave me the nickname one day. Everybody just used to call me woo, and he just decided to add that v on there one day and said Vwoo. ever since then that’s been my name. Everybody say I’m a smooth type of dude so the name really just fit.
Louie2Based – I don’t even know to be honest. It’s been my name for the longest rapping wise and I’m always 2 based. Based is being hype all the time and turnt and some people just thought I was too much of that so that’s how 2 based came along.
Exposed Vocals: What do you think about online music sharing? Do you ever give your music away for free? Why?
VWoo & Louie2Based- I think online music sharing is a huge benefit to artists trying to make a name. Right now being up and coming we give all our music out for free, and probably will always give some of our music out for free but not all of it.
Exposed Vocals: Do you ever make mistakes during performances? How do you handle that?
VWoo & Louie2Based – We have our first performance in 2 months so I guess we’ll find out then, but we don’t plan on it. We’re not the nervous type of people and if people came to one of our concerts I think they’d be able to see that.
Exposed Vocals: Do you tour? Anything interesting happen on tour that you think our readers would enjoy hearing about?
VWoo & Louie2Based – No we haven’t toured but definitely plan on it!
Exposed Vocals: Where do you usually gather songwriting inspiration? What is your usual songwriting process?
VWoo & Louie2Based – Just from the real, life struggles, current events, things of that sort and also depends on the type of song we’re making.
Exposed Vocals: Do you have a band website? What online platforms do you use to share your music?
VWoo & Louie2Based – Not a website yet but we do have a twitter account that we actually just made and the @ name for that is Polomusic_
Exposed Vocals: What are some really embarrassing songs that we might find on your mp3 player?
VWoo – You might find something like Adele – hello or just some old R&B songs nothing to embarrassing though
Louie2Based – You might see soulja boy – crank that I got that on the mp3 still!
Exposed Vocals: If you were given half a million dollars and a year off, what would you do? How would you spend it?
Vwoo & Louie 2 based – Give whatever my peoples need to them, and the rest put into getting a nice studio and really spend that time just perfecting the craft and writing music.
Exposed Vocals: Any planned studio upgrades? What are you working with now?
VWoo & Louie2Based – Yes we plan on going in on studio equipment and right now we’re really just working with a mic and a MacBook.
Exposed Vocals: How do you find ways to promote your music? What works best for you?
VWoo & Louie2Based –Through our new twitter, ig, really whatever social media sites that we’re on! Twitter is where we usually get most of our love from
Exposed Vocals: If you could perform anywhere and with any artists (Dead or Alive) where and who would it be with? Why?
VWoo – Probably future just because that’s all I really listen to at the moment other than our music, and definitely somewhere like Coachella or overseas in Dubai.
Louie2Based –I’d like to perform with Chief Keef. Just off the energy of his music and how hard fans rock with him! Where we would perform? If we were with Chief, it would only be right to perform in Chicago!
Exposed Vocals: So, what’s next? Any new upcoming projects that you want to talk about?
VWoo & Louie2Based – Yeah we’re dropping a mixtape late march! Including Ourselves and Chubbs. At the moment we don’t have a name for the mixtape but we will soon!
Exposed Vocals: If you weren’t making music, what would you be doing?
VWoo – I play basketball at the moment so continue doing what I’m doing and getting to the money!
Louie2Based – I’m graduating this year so really id just focus on that.
Exposed Vocals: Do you remember buying your first album? Who was it? What was going through your head?
VWoo – The first album I ever bought personally was Chief Keef – Finally Rich that’s when I was rocking with him the long way!
Louie2Based – The first album I bought was like the Carter 2 and I was rocking with Lil Wayne heavy so that’s really why I bought it
Exposed Vocals: How do you juggle the rest of your responsibilities while trying to stay ahead in your music life?
VWoo & Louie2Based – Really
Exposed Vocals: What should fans look forward to in 2016?
A lot of music, shows, and also a lot of PGE merchandise. Really in 2016 we’re trying to make it happen and plan on doing that.
