Exposed Vocals just caught an interview with King zaae
Exposed Vocals: So tell us your story. Where did you grow up? What made you decide
to become an artist?
King zaae: I was born in Seattle I grew up in Renton mainly, and the south part of
Seattle. As a little kid, I’ve always like hated school and wanted to chase my dreams.
Like always had a goal and aspiration to do something big. My family has been a HUGE
support and aid to my Craft. As a kid, I knew the lyrics to every song I knew. Micheal
Jackson is a huge influence, used to dress like him as a kid and had the outfits from the
videos all that. I started making/recording music at the age of 11, in 5th grade
Elementary. It went from dance hip hop to actually create it. My views and reasoning for
music has changed because at first was for fame and money but I’ve learned that
music is a passion something that I cant really live without.
Exposed Vocals: Since everyone was a start-up once, can you give any smaller or local
bands or artists looking to get gigs and airplay some tips?
King Zaae: Honestly, I’d say be resourceful, do what you can do to get where you need
even if it’s just a step, and don’t worry about what you can’t. Like I do other avenues of
business and being consistent and doing what you know and working what you have
will get you where you want to be. Also be nice, and kind to people. In this, who you
know can get you places. But also kindness can change someone’s heart or mind.
Exposed Vocals: Do you ever make mistakes during performances? How do you handle
that?
King Zaae: Yes if you forget the words go with it! Do not stop or restart, practice and
rehearse so it’s second nature. Also, the sound check is most important. Me not doing a
proper sound check and knowing what I needed messed up my first show. Be nice to
your sound guy!
Exposed Vocals: Do you tour? Anything interesting happen on tour that you think our
readers would enjoy hearing about?
King Zaae: I haven’t toured yet, but I’ve opened for a band on tour! Great
Experience, hope to get the full tour experience next year.
Exposed Vocals: Any planned studio upgrades? What are you working with now?
King Zaae: Right now, I’ve upgraded my mic and finally had enough to get studio
Monitors. Make sure all my equipment is up to quality standards for better quality
Control. I still need to get a new computer and I’m still learning.
Exposed Vocals: How do you find ways to promote your music? What works best for
you?
King Zaae: Don’t be scared o tell people you make music and are a musician. Word of
mouth is powerful. Also, like doing performances is a great way most people love live
music of any age, it’s a good way to get the masses in your city paying attention to you.
Exposed Vocals: If you could perform anywhere and with any artists (Dead or Alive)
where and who would it be with? Why?
King Zaae: If I could open for anyone I would want to go on tour with Kennyhoopla and
Micheal Jackson. To me, that sounds like a dream come true. Can’t even fathom the
amazing experiences I would have.
Exposed Vocals: So, what’s next? Any new upcoming projects that you want to talk
about?
King Zaae: Huge Emo night show, to finish out the year! We’re going to sell out. I’ve
been working on an Album or Ep all year. Don’t want to say too much because I don’t
know-how or when it’s being released. Its going to be more of like Me becoming the
artist I’ve always wante dto be, making sure my production is tight and t’s definitely
Going to bring something to table in terms of me as an artist.
Exposed Vocals: If you weren’t making music, what would you be doing?
King Zaae: MMA fighter. I used to train a lot during the peak of the pandemic. I know
like 4 different martial arts, wouldnt say im profeccient in ALL of them but i’ve studied
one enough to know to defend myself.
Exposed Vocals: What should fans look forward to in the next year or so?
King Zaae: They should look forward to better music, and better quality! Also to seeing
me more, Im’a be in everyone’s faces.
Exposed Vocals: Any Shout-outs?
King Zaae: Shout-out to my boy Oliver crosby, an amazing producer and my family
